Date of Viewing 12-01-2004
I saw Resident Evil Apocalypse today. After hearing many horrible HORRIBLE reviews, but wanting to see it anyway, I wasn't sure what to expect. Fist off, it’s a zombie movie, so you know lots of what to expect. Person gets bit and within a few hours they turn into a zombie too. Personally I thought the best part of the movie were the zombie dogs, thought only in the movie for a short time they kicked the most... well in fear of having angelfire yelling at me I wont finish that phrase. At one point Alice rides a motor cycle through the stain glass window of a church. One thing that crossed my mind at that point was "what convenient thing was set up to allow that to happen at just the right moment?" But then I remember "Oh Right! The same reason guns only run out of bullets at convenient plot points! Hollywood!" And as for the zombie deciding to be good for some unknown reason other then being insulted, I find that highly unlikely. Oh and on a final point, both Alice and the little girl Angie with pumped full of the virus and the vaccine. Personally I think it would have been hella cool for the little girl to do some major butt kicking of her own, but that’s just me.

Plot: Wait, there was a plot? 2/10
Explosions: For a lack of a good plot I found very little of these. 4/10
Special Effects: Probably where all their money went too. 6/10
Acting: Meh, it was alright. 4/10
Character Intelligence: It’s a horror movie... Need I say more? 3/10
Character Coolness Factor: The characters weren't the cooliest that I've seen but about right for what I expected. 5/10
Over All: See it for dirt cheep and during boredom. 4/10
