What follow are excerpts from the journal of Dr. Berry. Dr. Berry was a Tsufuru-jin bioengineer. He was born in the year 682 A.D. He died in the year 743 A.D.
April 25th, 701 A.D.
What a magnificent day today. They sky was clear with only a few pure white clouds. I was at the Tech Store today to buy a few supplies when I met Kiui. Kiui is absolutely gorgeous! I can only hope to describe such a beautiful woman! We talked most of the day. Apparently her father is the lead scientist at Za-men Labs. She’s a computer engineer with an I.Q. of 158. We have agreed to again and have set up a date.
April 25th, 702 A.D.
Kiui and I have celebrated our one year’s anniversary. We started off by visiting the Tech Store to relive the day. Then I took her out for dinner at The Uruwashii Restaurant. The meal was great but we couldn’t keep our eyes apart the entire night. I’m so grateful that we meet.
October 26th, 702 A.D.
It took a lot of courage, but I finally was able to do it. I purposed to Kiui. I took her out to dinner at The Beautiful Restaurant again. And during dessert, I asked her. When she accepted, I don’t think anything I’ve ever experienced has made me as happy. I’m sorry for the short entry, but my mind is floating with joy so I really can’t think of much to write!
April 9th, 703 A.D.
Kiui’s dad has asked me to join the Za-men Labs team. This is such a wonderful opportunity I have. I get to see some of the latest advancements in the bioengineering field and he’s even offering me my own private lab for personal experiments! He even says, after seeing some of my previous work, that there’s a possibility that I could even become the lead scientist of my field some day.
September 2nd, 703 A.D.
Today’s the day. I’m getting married! I better go. I need to prepare.
July 19th, 705 A.D.
Today was the birth of my daughter. This day equal to the day Kiui agreed to marry me. The feeling of bringing a new life into this world is wonderful. We’ve decided to name her Cherry. With both Kiui and Cherry in my life, I really feel complete in life.
July 19th, 718 A.D.
We celebrated Cherry’s 13th birthday today. It also looks like she’s going to graduate valedictorian of her school and possibly the country. She told me the other day that she wants to become an astronomer. So as a present I took her out to the observatory. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen her filled with so much excitement.
July 29th, 718 A.D.
I’ve been hearing a lot of rumors floating around at Za-men Labs lately. Some top secret project that’s is supposed to be able to rid Planet Plant of the Saiya-jin’s once and force all. The rumors are so vague though. No one knows what is being made, or even which scientist are part of the project. Then again it is just a rumor.
August 10th, 718 A.D.
I worked late tonight. I thought it a bit strange because Kiui usually calls to ask me when I’ll be home when I’m late. I drove home and found F.A.S. [Forces Against Saiya-jins] vehicles all around my house. Two Saiya-jins had gotten past the boarder security. Oh Kami, I still can’t believe it. Kiui and Cherry are dead.
September 20th, 718 A.D.
Today was my first day back at Za-men Labs. They had given me time off because of… my loss. Kiui’s father came up to me today. He offered me a new position. Apparently it’s a top secret project but he feels that I’ll be right for the job.
September 21st, 718 A.D.
I started my new position today. I’m the lead Scientist of project Tsufuru-jin Defense. Apparently there are a few separate divisions. The job assigned to me, as well as a few other select scientists, is to genetically engineer a Tsufuru-jin with D.N.A. from races across the universe to form a powerful biological weapon to fight off the Saiya-jins.
February 25th, 719 A.D.
We have the data set up. Tomorrow we combine the D.N.A. and start the growth process. We’ve nicknamed the project Tsufuru-jin Kun. Because of the unique biology of the Saiya-jins we’ve incorporated a few special strands of Saiya-jin D.N.A. into the mixture. We hope this will give him their unique power rating and healing structure.
October 21st, 719 A.D.
The growth process is complete on Tsufuru-jin Kun. He now looks to be a Tsufuru-jin around his 25th year of age. We will now begin the process of infusing data into his mind. This is a relatively new process and it’s still in its testing stage. We expect many problems in the future of this project but we believe that once we’ve worked out the bugs, this will be the greatest achievement of the Tsufuru-jin’s.
October 30th, 719 A.D.
Tsufuru-jin Kun seems to have inherited the horrible temper of the Saiya-jins. The data infusion though was a surprising success. He had the knowledge of a 25 year old Tsufuru-jin. His power rating is way above normal too at 257, one of the highest ever recorded. Apparently though there is another top secret biological experiment with an even higher power rating, though they are not at liberty to say exact what it is.
December 17th, 719 A.D.
Tsufuru-jin Kun has become to much of a risk. For a while we had to resort to using Ki supressors on him but he started to adapt to them. He started to hold a grudge against us because we wouldn’t release him upon the Saiya-jins. We don’t believe him ready for such a task. We have put him into cryo-stasis for the time being. The higher ups have told us we must start again. We will keep Tsufuru-jin Kun alive for the time being hoping to learn from the mistakes made with him.
January 18th, 720 A.D.
We have recompiled D.N.A. finally for the new project. We have kept out a few strands that we estimate with a 98.763% probability to be the problem with Tsufuru-jin Kun. We also have started on changes with the data infusion process hoping to give him a bit more of a reasonable personality.
April 10th, 720 A.D.
The Saiya-jins have unexpectedly grouped together and have waged war against us. They don’t seam to be much of a challenge for our weaponry, considering how primitive they are. The new project is coming along nicely. His age is approximately 10 and we hope to pull him out within the next 3 months.
June 25th, 720 A.D.
The war continues. Its amazing how adaptive the Saiya-jins really are. They’ve started to pick up and use our defense guns against us. A few of the more “intelligent” of the species have even started to use our scouters. What scare us the most are a few of the special abilities they’re starting to show. The rare ability to form Ki blasts for one thing. It also seems that we can’t leave them to die. When they heal they come back at twice the abilities without further training. A few of the scientists on the regular staff have been assigned to observe this ability with a few captured specimens.
July 1st, 720 A.D.
The new project has come out of the test tube and has been infused with information. He does appear to be a little more reasonable then his predecessor. Because of his advanced mental maturity we have nicknamed him Tsufuru-jin San. His power isn’t quite as high as Tsufuru-jin Kun’s was, at a rating of only 134 but its still impressive considering no standalone Tsufuru-jin has a rating over 5. Though most of these Saiya-jins seam to have a rating of around 25, though with each passing day the average is rising.
August 24th, 720 A.D.
Tsufuru-jin San has shown an incredible ability today! We’re not exactly sure how it happened and still have yet to investigate it fully. We were teaching him basic Defense Gun Combat. He looked at the gun and it started to glow with a yellowish light. Almost as if the gun had been turned to pure energy it was absorbed into his hands! Absolutely amazing! His power increased too, now at a rating of 141. This feat by itself was amazing and unusual. But when he demonstrated that he could also form power blasts from his hands just as if he had a Defense Gun, we knew for sure we had something that could possible rid us of those Saiya-jins once and for all!
November 26th, 720 A.D.
With extra funding from the government we’ve built a special training room for Tsufuru-jin San. Unfortunately since we have no technology to pose a challenge for him we have brought Tsufuru-jin Kun out of cryo-stasis for Tsufuru-jin San’s training. Strange enough, they appear to have a sibling rivalry. Though this can be bothersome it proves to be wonderful incentive for Tsufuru-jin San to become stronger.
March 22nd, 721 A.D.
The advancement of Tsufuru-jin San and Tsufuru-jin Kun is absolutely impressive. Tsufuru-jin San has a power rating of 267 now, as for Tsufuru-jin Kun, he has a power rating of 316. Tsufuru-jin Kun also seems to be a little more under control with Tsufuru-jin San around. We believe this to be because he actually has an outlet for his anger.
May 28th, 726 A.D.
Because of Tsufuru-jin San’s and Tsufuru-jin Kun’s increasing advancements we have set up a special area via teleportation units for them to train. It’s a medium sized uninhabited island. Its positively incredible the power they are able to achieve. Tsufuru-jin still falls short of his predecessor with a power rating of 1,345. Though Tsufuru-jin Kun has a rating of 1,678.
June 8th, 726 A.D.
As the war against the Saiya-jins intensifies plans for emergency evacuation is planned. The technology divisions are mass producing holograms to help us distract the Saiya-jins if we have to make a sudden escape off the planet. I have begun my own preparations. I’ve made a small device to help me monitor Tsufuru-jin San and Tsufuru-jin Kun. I’ll be able to monitor they’re power ratings and vital signs. Incase of a sudden invasion into the labs with out our preparations I’ve also set up both of their cryo-stasis tubes to reactivate upon a reading of a power rating over 500,000. We know how much of an improvability this is, but considering what’s being set up it is a possibility. We have also set up the data infusion to input data from a small virtually undetectable satellite orbiting the planet. They can actually view the war as they sleep.
June 30th, 726 A.D.
The council of Planet Plant has just informed the population that we have contacted a being known as Freeza. They have set up an agreement with him to ride us of the Saiya-jins. We would release Tsufuru-jin San, and even possibly Tsufuru-jin Kun but we still haven’t gotten full clearance yet. Freeza has a universal reputation of planet concurring. Though it may seem to be the lesser of two evils, we have agreed to exchange our technology for his help.
March 13th, 727 A.D.
The once in a 200 year sight is going to be seen. A full moon! It’s too bad that this has to happen during a war. Such a spectacle would be wonderful to witness. It’s to bad Cherry isn’t still alive to witness it. She would have loved to see a once in two life time celestial event. Kami, has it really been 9 years? She would be 21 were she still alive…
March 14th, 727 A.D.
The full moon was truly a sight to see. Especially what it did to those Saiya-jins… Upon view the full moon the Saiya-jins transformed into gigantic apes! They’re power ratings would rival Tsufuru-jin Kun’s! Needless to say, there was an emergency evacuation of the planet. Freeza still hasn’t arrived we’re unsure as to why. Unfortunately due to the sudden event we had to evacuate the Lab leaving behind Tsufuru-jin San and Tsufuru-jin Kun. Though the evacuation didn’t help much. As our ships were departing the damn Saiya-jins shoot out huge Ki blasts from their mouths destroy hundreds of ships in a single blast. Lost of good the holograms did. As far as I know, only a few thousand Tsufuru-jins escaped the planet.
March 16th, 727 A.D.
Freeza the traitorous bastard! He finally showed up and what does he do? He shoots down almost all of the surviving Tsufuru-jin Ship! I managed to escape through a small glitch I was able to discern in his sensory array. If I remember correctly he said he was more then happy to reclaim these escapee Saiya-jins. From what I can tell there was only one survivor from the destruction. A Dr. Raichi I believe, though he was headed in an opposite direction. Kami only knows what path awaits him. The one good thing though, Tsufuru-jin San’s and Tsufuru-jin Kun’s life signs are still active. I’m hoping that the Saiya-jins don’t find the lab.
November 3rd, 727 A.D.
My sensors have picked up a planet capable of life. I have redirected my course and hope to reach it in under a month. Good thing too, I’m running out of supplies. Thankfully the lab is still safe. Maybe one day Tsufuru-jin San and Tsufuru-jin Kun will reawaken and be able to exact revenge against the Saiya-jin.
December 10th, 727 A.D.
I have crash landed on the planet. I had passed out from lack of food. When I awoke my ship was crashed in the middle of a forest. I found several plants around that were edible and had a small meal to get my strength back up. Further testing has shown that this planet is actually inhabited with semi intelligent species. There appear to be artificial satellites orbiting the planet.
December 21st, 727 A.D.
Using the satellites around the planet I have found there to be visual broadcasts. I have found the appropriate time and frequency to obtain daily up dates. The species doesn’t actually seam to be that different then the Tsufuru-jins. It’s quite possible that I could fit in on this planet without anyone noticing. I doubt the probability that they have intergalactic space travel so I don’t wish to frighten them.
April 12th, 728 A.D.
Through much trouble I have been able to set up an identity on this planet finally. I have also taken a job as a scientist. This was easy seeing as how I have knowledge they’re centuries from discovering. I shouldn’t have to much trouble fitting in. I’m trying my best not to advance the technology of this planet to fast.
September 17th, 728 A.D.
I’ve meet a scientist that intrigues me. His name is Dr. Gero. He’s quite skilled in robotics, and has some talent in biomechanics.
November 22nd, 728 A.D.
I’ve decided to take Dr. Gero under my wing. I’m teaching him things that he probably would have never learned in his lifetime on this planet. I caught myself stareing at the monitor of Tsufuru-jin San today. I know that at this distance the readings are a few days off but I was just hoping for some reason that he would wake up.
Over the next extent of years Dr. Berry feel into a deep depression his journal entrees became few and far between. Some times only writing one sentence for a month. This continues until August 15th, 737 A.D. From what is written up until this point ti is concluded that Dr. Berry wasn’t able to do much in his work. He continued to mentor Dr. Gero.
August 15th, 737 A.D.
Something… Unusual happened today. I was working on some elementary biology when I heard a beeping from my desk drawer. I opened it and had to shuffle through papers to find the monitor on Tsufuru-jin San and Tsufuru-jin Kun. It appears that for some odd reason they have awoken. The computer says that there was a power reading of over 800,000. Both of them are awake now. And both have heightened heart rates. I wish I knew exactly what was happening and what could cause such a high power output. Maybe Freeza finally had enough of the Saiya-jins? I can only hope.
January 6th, 743 A.D.
I’m starting to worry about Dr. Gero. I went to see him today and saw some strange biomechanical blueprints.
February 17th, 743 A.D.
Dr. Gero has been begging me to teach him more. I think he knows that I have more knowledge then I’m letting people believe. I try to ignore him but he’s to persistent.
March 16th, 743 A.D.
Dr. Gero caught me grieving today over the loss of my planet. I couldn’t help myself. I told him exactly what happened. I even showed him my ships logs as proof. I think the knowledge was a bit of an overload for him to handle. He left my lab in a daze.
March 17th, 743 A.D.
I came to my lab and found it had been broken into. I had a feeling it was Dr. Gero. When I asked him about it he refused to answer in any fashion. I’m going to take this up with the higher ups tomorrow.
It is believed that Dr. Gero killed Dr. Berry that night though Dr. Gero was never convicted. The courts couldn’t find Dr. Berry’s personal notes or even professional notes. With out solid evidence Dr. Gero walked free.

All major events were pulled from the internet. This includes the war between the Saiya-jins and the Tsufuru-jins, The year that Freeza destroyed Planet Plant (as the persona Tsufurujin San I am required to call it that instead of Vegita Sei). I also used approximate dates for Dr. Berry to be able to have been a mentor to Dr. Gero even if it was only during Dr. Gero’s mid twenties. I also pulled approximate power ratings from the internet. Hence any and all of this hard core data might be wrong considering how vast and unreliable the internet truly is.
