CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

"Ladies and Gentlemen...Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Mullholand!" the DJ announced as Taylor and Sam walked into the ballroom for their reception

The party was just getting started, but already the music was playing and people were walking around talking to everyone they knew.

"Congratulations, guys," Hayden smiled, stepping in front of the couple. He held out a hand to Sam.

"Thank you," Sam nodded, shaking his cousin's hand.

"I'm glad you're here," Taylor smiled.

"Me too...save me a dance, gorgeous?"

"Of course," she nodded.

After dinner came the traditional wedding "Shananigans" as Taylor called them.

Sam and Taylor shared their first dance as a married couple to "The Way You Look Tonight" by Tony Bennet. Scott and Brook, as the Best Man and Maid of Honor, danced to "Unchained Melody" by the Righteous Brothers. Taylor and Mr. Kelso did the 'father daughter dance' to "My Girl" by the Temptations.

Once all of the formalities were done with, everyone cut loose and danced and drank and had a good time.

"May I have this dance?" Hayden smiled, offering Taylor a hand.

"Yes you may," she grinned back, taking his hand and following him to the dance floor.

"I've missed you, Tay," he whispered in her ear as they swayed slowly to "Truly Madly Deeply" by Savage Garden.

"I missed you too, Hayden...what made you decide to come?" she replied.

"Because I was wrong. If you and Sam truly and honestly love one another, then you should be together...I let my own selfish desires almost ruin a lifelong friendship...besides...I couldn't let Sam commit to one woman without my seeing it for myself..."

She laughed lightly. "I'm surprised he did it too."

"I'm not...I knew he'd smarten up eventually."

The party continued for a few more hours before Taylor stood up on a chair and called everyone's attention. "Okay, ladies...I'm getting ready to throw the bouquet!!"

All the girls crowded together, pushing and shoving. Taylor turned her back to them and tossed the bouquet over her shoulder.

Scott paled three shades when he saw Brooklynn disentangle herself from the mob, holding the flowers triumphantly over her head.

"Looks like we're next pal," Brooklynn laughed, kissing his cheek.

Sam and Taylor lay in bed kissing and cuddling.

"Thank you..." Sam whispered gently before kissing his wife's forehead.

"For what?" she smiled.

"Everything...loving me, taking care of me...Draco...take your pick."

Her smile slowly faded. "Do you think Draco's okay?"

"Of course he is. Your mom's not gonna let anything happen to him," Sam went back to kissing her neck softly.

"Yeah, but, what if he's sick? Or, real fussy cause he's never spent the night away from home..." she pulled away from her husband. "I'm gonna call and check on him real quick," she jumped out of bed.

"Taylor, this is our honeymoon!" he whined.

"SHHHH!" she scolded, holding the recievor to her ear. "Hi mom...no we're okay. How's Draco?...no, I mean is he okay? Is he being good?...Yes mom I know you're capable of taking care of a baby, but I was just making sure...yes ma...yes ma I know I'm on my honeymoon...but no...ma, listen to me...ma?...ma?"

Clearly Mrs. Kelso had hung up on her daughter.

"Will you please come back over here?" Sam begged.

"I don't know why she's being like that. He's my son...I can check on him whenever I damn well feel like it..." she sat down on the bed with a scow.

"Taylor...hello....we're on our honeymoon...it's supposed to be romantic...just me and you and NO baby..." he wrapped his arms around her shoulders from behind. "Please stop worrying...he's fine, okay."

Taylor turned around and kissed him. "I guess you're right...now...where were we?"

He gave her a sly grin and lay her back on the bed.
