bring them all in darkness bind them." Meer dan 100 miljoen lezers over de hele wereld kennen deze befaamde woorden uit J.R.R. Tolkien's driedelige epos 'In De Ban Van De Ring'. Regisseur Peter Jackson verfilmde het verhaal over de strijd tussen Goed en Kwaad om het bezit van de magische Ring en brengt 'Middle-earth' en haar bewoners op een overweldigend spectaculaire manier tot leven. In deel 1 van 'The Lord Of The Rings; The Fellowship Of The Ring' krijgt de Hobbit Frodo (Elijah Wood) een ring in zijn bezit. Zijn oude vriend, de tovenaar Gandalf (Ian McKellen), vertelt hem dat dit de 'The One Ring' is. Die Ring is het instrument van absolute macht en kan ervoor zorgen dat 'Sauron, The Dark Lord' over 'Middle-earth' kan heersen. Frodo moet, samen met een toegewijd reisgenootschap, bestaande uit mensen, een dwerg, een elf, hobbits en Gandalf ('The Fellowship') de Ring meenemen naar de 'Mount Doom' waar deze ooit gesmeden werd.
