Episode 25; Motoko's Choice: Love Of The Sword: Don't Cry!: Motoko's older sister drops by on a surprise visit to bring her back home to take over their family's school. Motoko doesn't feel she is ready to go back yet and knowing her sister is hard to convince, announces that the reason she can't go is because she is going to be married to Keitaro. Motoko's big sister says that since they are getting married, they could seal it with a kiss, and later take a bath together. Once it is discovered that the marriage is a ruse, Big Sis launches an attack on Motoko that defeats her easily and breaks her sword. She then tells Motoko that she should give up the sword and live normally. Motoko gives it a try but is unhappy with it. After a pep talk from Keitaro, Motoko goes to her sister to tell her she wants to continue sword training. Big Sis says that she will allow it if she can defeat her in a duel but if she loses, she has to marry Keitaro for real. The match is in 3 days and Motoko and Keitaro train together. Keitaro gives Motoko a replacement sword he found hidden away in the inn, but it's a cursed sword. In the course of the duel, Naru somehow ends up with the cursed sword and is possessed by it. The only technique that can be used is one that Big Sis never mastered. The technique that can attack the spirit without harming the person possessed. Luckily, it's a technique Motoko was forced to learn some time ago to save Naru from a drowning spirit. Impressed, Motoko's sister decides Motoko can carry on her training and return home when she is ready. |
