Special; Seikai No Danshou Tanjou: No Information Yet. Episode 01; Reunion: In the distant future, a war between the two powers which dominate the galaxy has begun. The surprise attack by the United Mankind started the conflict in 952 Imperial Calendar. The Empire immediately declared war against the Union and regained Sfagnoph, which had been occupied. However, it developed into a fierce war near the Imperial Capital and both sides suffered significant damage. After that, both sides tried to rebuild their navy and the war came to a kind of stalemate. And three years have passed. Lafiel's destroyer is in combat in the planar universe and about to merge with an enemy's space-time bubble. As soon as the bubbles are merged, the enemy ship fires its anti-proton canon. Lafiel barely evades it and fires her own canon. It misses the target and her ship is hit by the enemy's canon. Having now lost her anti-proton canon and defensive magnetic field, Lafiel's ship has no choice but to separate itself from the bubble. however her decision comes too late. Another beam of anti-proton scores a direct hit on the ship. The ships computer announces, "This ship has exploded." Lafiel rests herself against the back of her seat and says, "Any trouble?" There isn't any. The ship has been functioning fine. The training officer calls her up and tells that her skill is ok but she tends to fight too elegantly. She seems disheartened and leaves the deck for her room to rest. Jinto feels her disappointment. The new destroyer, which doesn't have any battle record, is famous for a strange reason. It has manors of two nobles, Lafiel and Jinto. Of course, Lafiel, a Princess, has a proper one back in the Capital but the cabin is the sole territory for Jinto. Jinto realises his fellow Flyers are looking at him and asks, "What's the matter?" Samsonn, the chief engineer, tells him what is expected. They want Jinto to cheer up Lafiel. But Jinto wants to know why *he* should be one with the task. Samsonn asks him, "What would you do if you saw the captain in a bad humour?" Jinto immediately answers, "I'd try to calm her down." Then Samsonn asks the same question of Sobach, the second-in-command of the ship. "I'd find some urgent business... at as distant a place as possible." There is no doubt that Jinto is the only person who can face an angry Ablïarsec. However he remains reluctant. If Lafiel finds out that her crew is trying to take care of her, she will be really angry. Samsonn reluctantly agrees; after all, Jinto knows her nature far better than the other Flyers. He is so close to the Princess as to call her by her first name. Samsonn's comment surprises Jinto a lot. Yet he refuses to go to the captain's room with no excuse. But Aicryac conveniently finds one; his cat, Dïahauc, is in her room. Lafiel has been talking to the cat when Jinto comes to her room to "get his cat back." Lafiel knows that he has come for another reason and mounts a preemptive attack, "There's nothing for you to worry about with me." Jinto plays innocent but eventually admits that he has come here to talk about the simulation; "Try not to show your disappointment to the officers." This surpises her. Ablïarsec are famous for their defiance and she didn't realise she looked disheartened. Lafiel wants to know if "the officers" include Jinto himself. He is sure Lafiel knows when to be disappointed and when not to. He continues to say, "You seem unused to being beaten. You're like a sharp knife which will be broken against harder material rather than bent." When Jinto leaves her room, Lafiel nearly says to him, "Three years ago, we both thought we were a guardian for each other. Coming to think about it now, it seems silly." Jinto is also reminded of the days they spent together three years ago. He lost his family and home, everything to do with his past. Yet it didn't sadden him. It was more important for him to see Lafiel again. The ship is about to enter the Bhobeirnéc Gate. Lafiel's ship has been sent to the planet Lulucézec. The view impresses the crew a great deal. Bhobeirnéc is one of the eight Regional Headquarters of the Space Navy and tens of new ships are being built every day in preparation for the real war against the Three Nation Union to come. Soon Jinto, along with his colleagues, is to be sent to the battle field from which he may never return. However, he is rather pleased about it. He is determined to stick with Lafiel, whether or not she likes it, until the day she sits on the throne or perishes in the planar universe. |
