Plot:
The Scary Movie gang is back for the third installment in this spoof series, but they are no longer content to stick to the horror genre. Everything from "Lord of the Rings" to "8 Mile" is up for skewering.

Review:
Before the third part of Scary Movie was released, the fourth part was already in pre-production. It is obvious these sequels of Scary Movie have been having problems. The only good spoofs they could have done was back then when Scream was out and they did enough of that in the original Scary Movie. It was great timing and Scream was very popular. Although The Ring and Signs were some of the best films last year, it wasn't popular to the public such as Scream and Scream's sequels.

Did this film make me laugh? Sure it did, but not enough to make it a passable sequel. There was nothing memorable that really stood out. I wanted to die of laughter because they had plenty of good material to work with. The Ring was a perfect target, but they failed. I was being harsh to see how they would spoof it, but nothing was really that hilarious. They handpicked just one or two scenes from each film and didn't deliver them thoroughly.

As far as actors go, I thought Leslie Nielsen was going to have a much bigger part. He is a very funny man, but didn't have much of anything to do good in this film. The blame doesn't go to him though, it should go to the writers because he can do great comedy.

They also spoofed The Others which was one of the best films of 2001. Its only one scene and it was shown in the previews and trailers so I'm sure everyone knows about it.

Its not that Scary Movie 3 is not funny at all because it does have its funny scenes, but they didn't aim high enough for the big laughs. They led for the giggles, not the chuckles. Too much was also given away on the trailers, and its sad that the trailers weren't even that funny.

They are playing our movie.

I must say the first Scary Movie still stands as the best, the second and third are equal to each other. They are disappointments. However, I'm not going to get detailed of what I didn't like about Scary Movie 2 because this is about the third one.

I truly can't believe this is the same Director that made Airplane, the first two Naked Guns and Baseketball. Four effective comedies. His streak has ended, but hopefully he will come back and do a good comedy. Scary Movie had me laughing at times and it was clever for a short span, but it clearl failed in proving itself as a third part.

This won't be the last of Scary Movie because Scary Movie 4 next year and it will be on superheroes. Do we actually have a good one in our hands. I can't tell you that right now, but how far can you actually go with spoofing superheroes. By the looks of it Scary Movie 4 could possibly end up being the worst of the quadrilogy, but we will just to witness it ourselves.

Scary Movie 3 had everything spoonfed, but it seems it wasn't hungry. The year 2003 just wasn't David Zucker's year as he not only gave us a disappointing Scary Movie 3, but he also gave us the below average comedy, My Boss's Daughter. Better Luck Next Year Zucker.
