Din Thomas: Orlando's Ultimate Fighting Champion
Central Florida is home to the greatest golfers in the world and some of the
NBA's best players, but few people are aware that an Orlando resident, who
struggles for recognition locally, is considered by many as the greatest
fighter in the world.

Red Sox manager Jimy Williams was unjustly
fired by Dan Duquette
As a life-long Red Sox fan, I can think of no manager in my 30 years who is
more deserving of our applause and admiration. Years from now, when Dan
Duquette is a distant memory, and we still have not won a world
championship, I will remember Jimy's "manager's decisions" with fondness.

If Nomar Garciaparra undergoes surgery for his wrist,
the Red Sox will keep on winning.
I'm not saying the Sox are better without him, but I am saying they'll be
within six games, if not leading the division, when he returns. Then, the
momentum will swing in their favor and they will overtake the Yankees and
win the Eastern Division.

Cardio Club Fitness Center
Orlando was the perfect fit for the groundbreaking facility, but this
attraction is not for tourists. It was created for local residents who want
a high-tech, cutting-edge, and post-modern workout. [paid advertisement]

Bughead: Eclectic-Rock-Reggae-Ska-Jazz-Funk-Metal-Pop
Bughead has earned a reputation for being one of the hardest working bands
on the local scene. They are so tight, and in such a groove, that you would
swear they are going through the motions; that someone, somewhere, is
playing their CD through the speakers.

Matadors Bully Santa Fe 96-87: Paulo Motta
Performs Like A Modern-Day Charles Atlas
Paulo Motta was an unstoppable force from the perimeter, hitting
three-pointers at will, and an immovable object in the paint, muscling his
way through Santa Fe defenders like a bulky bully on the beach.

Female Athletics
Are Worthy Of Equal Media Coverage
Any sports fan who has no desire to watch female athletics is a practicing
sexist as far as I'm concerned. A shot at the buzzer, a ninth inning
homerun, an amazing comeback are all things that can and do happen in
women's athletics. November 23, 1993
