Synopsis: A priest on the lam (Bettany) joins a travelling theater troupe, led by the charismatic Martin (Dafoe), who cause a scandal with the re-enactment of the grisly murder of a young boy. It seems things aren't always what they seem, and the troupe decide to unravel the mystery surrounding the numerous deaths, all blamed on a mute girl.
