Same antique shop, some 10 years later a friend of mine tells me he saw several bells at the antique store again. So I headed on over. Sure enough. The dealer had 2 sitting there. A Steel Bell from a Nickle Plate Locomotive and this one, a Steel Bell from a PRR J1 2-10-4. Another Whoohoo! I should have bought both but I was stupid! PRR J1's were built during the war years and metals such as brass/bronze were used for the war effort. So, the J1's were ones that received steel bells. I knew that ahead of time so I knew what I was looking at. So, I bought it. Interesting to know that these bells were actually fabricated from sheet steel, not poured steel.
