Singapore / Malaysia / Thai /
Myanmar
The landscape in these countries is
tropical, every time of the year is summer, only the monsun rain
brings some change in the weather.
In this web-side three main lines are considered:
Line Singapore - Kuala Lumpur
This is the connection from Singapore to the Malaysian capital to
the North. The Luxus train on this route is the Eastern Orient
Express, which runs all the way to Bangkok. On the line
Singapore-Kuala Lumpur highway buses are competitive service. The
rich island-country Singapore imports many goods, also drinking
water from Malaysia. However, Singapore people consider a travel
to Malaysia still as a little bit dangerous.
Line Kuala Lumpur - Bangkok
Kuala Lumpur has the still tallest building in the world (year
2003). The landscape is dominated by tropical rain forest with
palm trees, banana plants and other evergreen vegetation. The
temperature is never below 23 degree, but there are seasons, and
some of the tropical fruits famous for this region like Papaya,
Mangosteen, Star fruit are available only in some months.
Line Bangkok - Pegu - Rangoon
Traveling to Mynmar is still a great adventure, and especially
the border between Tai an Mynmar is usually closed for tourists,
so the only way is to enter Mynmar by plane.
Line Pyuntaza - Madauk, Pegu -
Nyaunghash
On these country-side lines in Mynmar still steam engines are
running.
Line Singapore - Kuala Lumpur
The East-Orient Express is a luxus train for tourists and
connects three countries, Singapore, Malaysia and Thai.
