Continuity: In the scene where
Stifler drinks the "beer" the glass changes
colors from clear to blue and back to clear again. (This
may only apply to the unrated edition.)
Incorrectly regarded as goofs:
While Michigan State University doesn't have a varsity
lacrosse team, the teams shown playing are both high
school teams. It's common for playoff games to be held at
local colleges.
Errors in geography: There are
no native palm trees in Michigan, yet the shot where they
are playing lacrosse there are palm trees visible all
around.
Continuity: When Stifler's mom
and Finch are talking, before they use the billard table,
Stifler's mom's hairstyling (close-up) changes from one
shot to another (left side from your point of view).
Continuity: The position of the
camera on the computer goes from a tight shot on the bed
to a wide shot of the room.
Factual errors: In the credits,
Mark, Tom, and Scott are listed for Blink-182, however
Scott was not in the movie and is no longer in the band.
It was Travis Barker
who appeared in the movie playing drums, not Scott.
Incorrectly regarded as goofs:
In the "pie scene" Jim's mother's note reads
"Apple - you're favorite..." It should be
"your" not "you're," but since this
was an error by a character, it's revealing something
about the character and is not an error in the film.

times this "error" was submitted.)
Crew or equipment visible: When
Finch is running for the restroom, the mike wire is
visible under his shirt.
Continuity: In the library, Oz
is wearing a different shirt than the previous and
following scenes, which are supposed to be the same day.
Continuity: Set in Michigan, at
one point a parking lot full of cars with California
license plates can be seen out a window if you look
sharp.
Continuity: Oz's hair in the
final scene.
Crew or equipment visible: When
Heather and Oz are in his dad's food shop you can see the
light from the camera and some of the crew behind Heather
when she is sitting at the counter.
Audio/visual unsynchronised:
When Stifler is puking in the bathroom, Jim walks in and
you hear "Damn Stifler what'd you drink?" but
he only says "Damn Stifler"
Continuity: When Jim's Dad
hands Jim the third porn magazine, the first couple of
shots show his hands at the top of the magazine. In the
next shot, when Jim takes it from him, Jim's Dad's hands
are at the bottom of the magazine.
Crew or equipment visible: In a
scene where Jim is walking towards Nadia, a C-Stand is
visible on the left.
Crew or equipment visible: The
bottom of the take marker can be seen at the top of the
screen for a moment while Jim talks with Michelle in
History class.
Incorrectly regarded as goofs:
There is no "MSU School of Music" sign on
campus as shown, but that's an acceptable
fictionalization. The music school is not Wharton Center
for Performing Arts; that's a separate concert venue.
Continuity: In the opening
scene when Jim's parents come in to tell him goodnight,
you can see through the shutters that it is daytime
outside.
Continuity: In the scene where
the "pact" is first formulated, Finch's legs
can be seen both crossed and uncrossed depending upon the
camera's angle.
Continuity: The QuickCam has
been glued at a 45-degree rotated angle in its base, as
evidenced by the visible tripod mounting bracket normally
hidden down in the base; however, it still produces
rightside-up images.
Revealing mistakes: In Jim's
room, you can see that there is no ceiling.
Crew or equipment visible: A
hand is briefly visible during the webcast as Jim's shirt
falls off the webcam. It is actually being dropped in
front of the camera.

Continuity: On the back of
Nadia's postcard from Philadelphia the caption reads
"Prickly Cactus" not the liberty bell, as
pictured on the front.
Plot holes: Being all on
different frequencies, the painters', truckers',
children's and police radios would not interfere with
each other.
Plot holes: The farce sequence
with the glue and the video depends upon Jim's inability
to open the door or dress himself, yet he is able to get
into the bathroom and operate the shower without any
apparent difficulty.
Continuity: When Jim is with
the girl in the opening scene her feet are bare when she
puts them up in the air. After Jim's dad comes into the
room and they both sit up she is wearing white socks.
Continuity: The flowerpot that
falls, reappears and then disappears.
Continuity: When Finch is
talking to Stifler's mom at the car, first her cigarette
is lit, then it's not, then it's lit again.
Revealing mistakes: You can see
Jim's shorts when he is supposed to be naked with the
girl at the beginning of the movie.
