American Pie

Classic comedy about four high school friends who make the ultimate pact : To lose their virginity by prom night. The laughs come thick and fast as the boys end up trying to bed anything, Including Nadine the very sexy foreign exchange student and a girl who likes to play with her flute. One of the boys even goes as far as paying people to boost his reputation.

However if you watch this film after hearing all the hype you may find it very lightweight, and possibly not as shocking or hilarious as many have made out. But as a sex comedy, you won't get many better films, or come to think of it, a film as funny as this elsewhere..

It is a superb " Teen Comedy " which even had my wife in stitches, and with so many great moments, which includes the Internet video of "Nadia" changing and getting sexy in the Jims room. The "sex talks" between son and father. The "contaminated" beer on the bed side table. Mam and Dad coming into his room while we was getting off on watching scrambled porn channel,. it is hard to pick out a single favourite scene.

Just as Scream was a huge step for horror films, I believe this is a huge step for all future comedies.

American Pie 2

The most important part for me in any sequel is the return of the original characters, that is what American Pie 2 gives us.

This follow up movie is simple and straightforward. The four boys from the first film have all ended their first year at college and have returned home for the summer. They find, while much has changed, some things still remain the same. Out of desperation they rent a beach house for the remainder of the summer and decide to liven it up the way they know best. The guys all do well in reprising their roles and obviously haven't moved forward too far in their lives.

The girls also return from the first film but this time they get less screen time. The biggest part goes to Allyson Hannigan's character, who is enlisted by Jim in his attempts to better himself before the impending arrival of Nadia.

The most improved character was Stiffler. with the funniest part of the film being the lesbian scene "simply awesome stuff".
