MEN IN BLACK - COMING SOON
SIDEWALKS OF NY - COMING SOON
CHELSA WALLS
The Chelsea Hotel echoes with loneliness, residents moving in and out, dreaming behind closed doors and searching for someone -- or something -- that got away. The Chelsea Hotel used to be grand, the place to live for New York City artists. Mark Twain, Thomas Wolfe, Tennessee Williams, Arthur Miller, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix…they all passed through the hotel’s halls. Now, the iron façade has become rusty and the artists in residence are tarnished, too. Still, new dreamers come every day, hoping to be inspired by the ghosts of the past. Grace (Uma Thurman) and Audrey (Rosaria Dawson) are young poets, who constantly struggle with issues of art and love. Never learning from experience, they always seem to let the wrong men into their hearts. Grace should love Frank (Vincent D’Onofrio), an artist who respects and understands her. But she still responds to the siren call of the lover who went to Hollywood. Similarly, Audrey lets impenetrable Val (Mark Webber) back into her life, knowing he will go off with Crutches (Kevin Corrigan) to do something that could take him away from her forever. Down the hall, Bud (Kris Kristofferson) is a writer who faces more endings than beginnings. His pretends that his wife, Greta, (Tuesday Weld) and his mistress, Mary, (Natasha Richardson) are his muses. But his eight-hundred page book is really fueled by an endless supply of alcohol. A lion who is losing his roar, Bud is out of time. For every worn out writer, there are two new musicians who come to town. Ross (Steve Zahn) and Terry (Robert Sean Leonard) have just driven in from Minnesota, eager to experience the sights and sounds of the Chelsea Hotel. These new hotel residents, young and full of expectations, mingle with the old hotel ghosts, ultimately becoming interchangeable. They form a community, linked by their dreams, their isolation, and their pain. The Chelsea Hotel never really leaves the people who live there, nor do they ever really leave it.Chelsea Walls (formerly Last Word on Paradise) directed by Ethan Hawke, stars Kevin Corrigan, Vincent D'Onofrio, Kris Kristofferson, Robert Sean Leonard, Natasha Richardson, Uma Thurman, Tuesday Weld, Frank Whaley and Steve Zahn. The film is based on the play Chelsea Walls by Nicole Burdette and was shot for three weeks on location at the famed hotel and was produced by Christine Vachon and Pam Koffler of Killer Films

JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS
Josie, Val and Melody are lifelong friends from Riverdale determined to take their band out of the garage and into the stratosphere--while staying true to their own look, style and sound. Neither their look nor their sound is trendy, but they mean every word they sing. And when nobody shows up at their gigs, they understand that real musicians have to pay their dues. Unfortunately, the Pussycats live in a glitz-obsessed world where trends change every week and status symbols rule. Then one day everything changes. Josie and the Pussycats are "discovered" by hot-shot manager Wyatt Frame who presents them to MegaRecords CEO Fiona as the next best thing, instantly positioning them for success beyond their wildest dreams.

LIGHT IT UP
A neglected high school in Queens, New York. A favorite teacher is suspended. Suddenly, six disparate students - a student council member, a punk-rocker, a hustler, a star basketball player, a gangbanger and a gifted artist - are bound together in a battle none of them ever imagined they would fight. The students barricade themselves inside the school. As the police, media and eyes of the country zero in on the sensational crisis, the students realize for the first time in their young lives that their voices might actually be heard. The question then becomes, What do they have to say? What quickly escalated from a simple protest to a hostage situation takes a startling turn as the students stand their ground and make a statement. After a lifetime of injustice over which they've had no control, the students use their negotiating power to ask not for money, nor to gain immunity, but to demand their right to receive a decent education. Even the police officer they reluctantly take hostage is compelled to empathize with the students as he learns what brought them here and supports their need to be heard. Ultimately the officer puts his life in jeopardy to help them. R&B singing phenomenon Usher Raymond, who made his big screen debut in Robert Rodriguez's "The Faculty," has his first motion picture starring role as the group's unlikely leader, Lester, the school's star basketball player. Joining the Grammy nominee are Rosario Dawson ("He Got Game," "Kids") as Stephanie, the brainy beauty who tries to rationalize and diminish the impending chaos while helping the wounded cop; film newcomer Robert Ri'chard (Nickelodeon's "Cousin Skeeter") as the sensitive artist, Ziggy, who unwittingly causes the accidental shooting; Clifton Collins, Jr. ("187," "The Replacement Killers") as Rivers, the hip, wheeler-dealer who sides with Lester; Rap musician Fredro Starr ("Sunset Park," "Clockers") as Rodney, the gang member with a lengthy rap sheet and an itchy trigger finger; and Sara Gilbert ("Poison Ivy," TV's "Roseanne") as Lynn, the pregnant teen who inadvertently becomes part of the crisis. Forest Whitaker ("Bird," "The Crying Game," "Platoon") stars as Officer Dante Jackson, the veteran N.Y.P.D. police officer who becomes the pawn in the students' negotiations. Judd Nelson ("The Breakfast Club," "St. Elmo's Fire," TV's "Suddenly Susan") plays the dedicated teacher, Mr. Knowles, whose firing incites the hostage drama. Vanessa L. Williams ("Dance with Me," "Eraser," "Soul Food") takes on the crucial role of hostage negotiator Audrey McDonald. Veteran actor Glynn Turman plays the school's beleaguered principal, Armstrong.
