Biography:
In times of war, the art of discipline can often mean the difference between a soldier's life and death. In that sense, it is hardly any wonder how Rolento has survived so long.
As the second son in a wealthy family, Rolento had a lot to live up to. Unfortunately, the pressures levied upon him by his parents became too much to bear, and he began to rebel, even running away from home on numerous occasions. After several run-ins with the police, Rolento's parents decided to take action and enrolled their son in a military boot camp.
Life in boot camp was extremely difficult, but Rolento quickly matured, becoming a model student to the art of discipline. Listening to the drill instructors' tales of warfare steeled his resolve, and he quickly abandoned his unruly ways in favor of a new ideal: In the service of his country.
By all accounts, Rolento was the perfect soldier. Through his exploits in Vietnam, he became a celebrated war hero, but unbeknownst to his admirers, the rigors of the war had taken an enormous toll upon his psyche. Having grown disillusioned with the U.S. Government and their policies of war, Rolento eventually deserted the Army and struck out on his own, determined to bring about world peace using his own militaristic creed. Lured by his promises of world domination, a number of other soldiers left the Army to follow him, all of whom became part of his personal militia.
With his underlings in tow, Rolento made his way to crime-ridden Metro City. Hoping to further establish his cause, he joined forces with Adolus Belger, who was secretly working to establish his own dictatorship through the use of the Mad Gear gang. As second-in-command to Belger himself, Rolento took control of Metro City's Industrial Area, and also trained many of the gang's newer inductees in the ways of hand-to-hand combat.
When the gang's dominance became threatened by Mike Haggar and his allies, Rolento stood his ground, but could do little to thwart the trio in their quest to reclaim Metro City. In the end, rather than face justice for his crimes, Rolento annihilated himself in a handful of his own grenades.
Though taken for dead, Rolento mysteriously resurfaced a few years later, driving an armored tank through the heart of Metro City and declaring it as his own. White it is unclear how Rolento survived his apparent death, and although he was eventually driven from Metro City, he remains an extremely dangerous adversary who is hell-bent on world domination.
