Everything you need to know about the history of Synclad

(for right now)

Isaac Asimov will forever be remembered for masterminding the greatest hoax the scientific community has ever known.

The positronic brain is nothing but science fiction. For decades, science has struggled to unlock the secret to creating artificial life through mechanics and Asimovs laws of robotics.

Mankind should have been looking closer to home. Through the wonders of cloning, stem cell research, and many other morally questionable scientific practices, researchers were able to grow a complete human body. Only they could not bring it to life. They lacked the spark to give their creation life.

Enter Dauntin Corporation. This massive conglomerate had their fingers in everything from breakfast cereals to extradimensional research. Their dimensional exploration in the early part of the 21st century yielded surprising results. They had discovered a dimension of pure energy. It was like nothing they had ever encountered, or even dreamed about.

By pure accident, they came to realize that this energy had the power to give life to the unliving. Under cover of secrecy, they brought these artificial beings to life.

The possiblilities were infinite. A race of humanoid slaves, created in less than one-tenth the time their human counterparts would take. The government quickly turned the matter over to the bureaucrats for debate. Their debate went on for over a year. Then Dauntin proved the worth of these artificial beings.

Medical research made them invaluable, military propaganda made them indispensable, and the government made them inhuman.

These Synclads, as they were called, were declared Not Human, by a UN-appointed council. And so they were kept away from the world.

Dauntin engineered faults into every Synclad; thereby assuring that no Synclad would ever gain power over a full-blooded human. Dauntin shortened their life, made them infertile, and made a foolproof method for detecting them - Synclads produce no pheromones, or smells of any kind. They are odorless.

A new breed of tracker arose. Those that had keen olfactory senses became the police force for this breed of inhumans.

Dauntin had bred these failings into every successive generation of Synclads - but not the first generation. Of the original twelve created, nine were captured and deactivated (destroyed). Three are still at large.

One of the original generation now calls himself Oracle. He is the self-appointed judge of the Human Creators. He has vowed to recreate humanity in his image.

There is no telling where he will strike next - for strike he shall. No one is safe as long as he keeps preaching Synclad equality. He is masterminding a revolution against full-bloods. He will destroy the earth as we know it. He must be stopped, at all costs.
