DIRECTIONS
FOR ADDING
RINGSURF GRAPHIC TO YOUR PAGE
1.
Click on the link that says "List Sites."
2. When you get to the general index of sites, on that page you
will see a link to "Join" this webring. Click on it.
3. Follow the directions there.
4. You will go to a page that has the proper HTML code for the
webring. Copy it and cut and paste it into the webpage where
you want the webring graphic to appear.
5. You will have to go into the "Source" of that webpage
and change several things.
~ After you RIGHT-click and "Save
As" the Greenlight Zone graphic below, upload it to your
own website. COPY that IMAGE URL PATH where it says to do so
in the Greenlight Zone Webring Graphic. You will be using the
IMG SRC tag for this.
~ Insert your email address in
the Webring Graphic Code where it says "...owned by the
A HREF="mailto:your email addy here" /A website.
~ Inbetween the A HREF tag and
the ending /A tag, type in the NAME OF YOUR WEBSITE OR
YOUR PREFERRED USER NAME
~ Everywhere in the code that you
see ***SITE
ID***
you must replace that with the Site ID number that RingSurf gave
you when you joined the webring. Also eliminate the triple ***.
You
can also wait for RingSurf to send you an email with the HTML
code that will have your "site ID number" automatically
inserted in it and just cut and paste that code (but if you have
the code sent to a Hotmail email account, beware, I've heard
that Hotmail messes with the HTML codes -- don't know how true
that is).
RingSurf will eliminate anyone from our webring index listing
who does not have the correct code pasted into their webpage.
That doesn't mean we don't love you, anymore. It just means you
need to EMAIL
ME
so we can figure out what to do.
6. "Save As" your webpage. Then please preview it in
your own browser before uploading it to your webhost provider.
You can do that by opening up a browser window (in Internet Explorer,
click on the E icon in your system tray or on your desktop).
Then go to FILE, click on OPEN, click on BROWSE, go to the HTML
file for that webpage, click on it, Click on OPEN. If your webpage
looks as it should, then upload it to your webhost.
