This was announced by an ambitious independent film production company called Shadow Productions back in 1999. Below is their mission statement:
"Shadow Productions plans on producing four to six films per year with budgets ranging from $375,000.00 to $2,000,000.00. All of these films will be for direct to video and cable markets. We will feature up and coming scream queens along with old familiar faces from film and television. All films will be shot on Super16 film and marketed on video tape and DVD formats. Super16 film allows us the luxury of limited theatrical release if there is enough excitement about a particular project as we can easily blow up to 35mm. We also plan on a large scale marketing campaign for each film. We will produce calenders, posters, clothing, action figures, trading cards, comic books, and musical soundtracks, etc."
Unfortunately, their ambition far exceeded their resources as none of their films ever got produced. They never once updated their website after launching it so clearly the term "fly by night" fits them. Pity too because one of their proposed films sounded like it would have made for an outlandish nature gone amok movie. I give you...
CRACKODILE
"A drug induced nightmare about the effects of a new designer drug on an average American Alligator. When a tanker carrying a new designer drug crashes into the swamp during a drug chase, a gator is transformed into the junkie animal known as the Crackodile. The creature leaves a trail of death and destruction in it's wake as it tries to quench it's insatiable hunger for any type of drug. It's up to a small town sheriff and his deputy to capture the beast and end it's murderous spree.
Horror/Comedy at its best."
They even had artwork drawn up for it (pictured below). Sadly, that is all to CRACKODILE that will ever be.
