Ray Harryhausen project, set to follow CLASH OF THE TITANS. It was to be based on THE AENEID, the classic poem, and would have dealt with Aeneas and the founding of Rome. Monsters that were intended to be used in the project included a sphynx, several cyclopses, and the legendary Scylla and Charybdis. A clay-type model of the Sphynx was created, but before production could go further, Harryhausen opted to retire from filmmaking.
