Before being filmed and released as FRANKENSTEIN CONQUERS THE WORLD (original Japanese title: Fuharankanshutain tai Chitei Kaiju Baragon), this film was origninally planned as FRANKENSTEIN VS. THE GIANT DEVILFISH.
According to Stuart Galbraith IV's book Japanese Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films, the original Devilfish (octopus) monster prop proved to be too unconvincing, and a hastily built Baragon suit was employed to replace him.
The interesting part to this, though, is that over the years, pictures of Frankenstein battling the giant cephalopod were known to exist, and when the film was released on video in Japan, scenes with the octopus were finally included. (NOTE: I am not absolutely sure if it was released that way originally in Japan during it's initial theatrical run).
Regardless, as the original plan was for the Frankenstein creature to battle a giant octopus and ONLY a giant octopus, instead of it's brief cameo in the ending, I'm opting to include the concept here.
