This was definitely my prize photo of the trip! While driving around one side of the warehouse, I noticed this roller-door was wide open, and there were props inside! Of course, I had to grab a pic...

I hopped out of the car on the road and made a run for the fence. Unfortunately, on my way I discovered that the fence is on a bit of a hill, and it wasn't until I ran towards it that I noticed there was a car parked right in front of the door! I saw that the car door was open and heard someone yelling so, in a moment of frenzy, I snapped this pic and ran straight back to the car! The most amusing thing was that, upon returning to the roller-door after one final lap of the building, the middle statue had disappeared! *grins*

The central figure is a wooden statue of Anubis, the dog-like Egyptian God of Death. I'm pretty sure the other one is identical. They were still in their raw wooden state and I assume they required painting. I remember wondering what they were meant to represent... It wasn't until the following night at the Death Valley Concert that I realised these statues were Anubis! In fact, upon a closer inspection of the central statue, I realised that it's an identical version of the giant Anubis head that was featured on the stage at the concert! (click here to see the concert Anubis!)

The statues featured in this pic are full-length. I can just picture these two small Anubis statues on either side of Akasha and Enkil in Marius's 'shrine'... The concert Anubis was a towering figure (about 20 times bigger!) and only the head and shoulders could be seen. It seems that Anubis will play somewhat of a key role in this film? We'll have to wait and see! ;)
