Kirstie Alley was born on January 12,
1951, in Wichita, Kansas, she was the second of three children. Her older
sister's name is Colette and her younger brother's name is Craig. Mickie
her mother was killed in an auto accident in 1981, her father Robert was
injured in this same accident.
Kirstie was married to actor/director Parker
Stevenson in December of 1983. They had two children, William True 4 years
of age and Lillie Price 2 years of age. The couple announced their divorce
in the fall of 1996.
She was first known for her performance as Lt.
Saavik in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982). She later went on to
replace Shelly Long in her popular role on the television series Cheers.
Kirstie's best known silver screen performance is
for Look Who's Talking (1989).
Kirstie was awarded an Emmy, a Golden Globe and a
People's Choice Award for her tremendously popular role on cheers.
She has a series of her own now on NBC. Her new
sitcom is called Veronica's Closet and from the time slot that NBC has
given the show it is obvious that they expect this one to be a powerhouse.
In the new series Kirstie plays the role of a
business owner selling merchandise to put some pep back into tired
romances.
