Ralph Bunche School Mill Swamp Road, Edgewater 21037 The Ralph Bunche School, now the Ralph Bunche Community Center, was built as a school for black children in 1950. It is built on the site of the former Mill Swamp School, one of the county's Rosenwald schools built between 1920 and 1932. Julius Rosenwald was a wealthy philanthropist who contributed to the construction of over 5,000 black schools throughout the south. Funding was awarded on a matching basis and three area African American churches contributed land on which the school was built
