I watched Elena Dementieva play on CBC in the semi-finals of the 2003 Rogers AT&T Cup held at York University. I had long heard of Dementieva and had seen her infrequently in highlights a few years back but this was the first time that I really saw her play. She was graceful, and seemed to be really nice. Even though she lost the match against the pitbull Justine Henin, I came away impressed by Dementieva. She has an unique second serve where she curves the ball that reminds me of myself spinning the table tennis ball over the net. She has a strong mentality and I like that! Plus, she's full of elegance as you can see. The last photo is of Dementieva and Lina Krasnoroutskaya together in "Rosmalen, June 2003". I don't know what tournament that is but Dementieva and Krasnoroutskaya must be quite a pair!
