Evil Dead II is one of those movies that you can watch and say with out a doubt no one else could have pulled this off. Only Sam Raimi could have directed this superior combination of gore, horror, and comedy, and WITH OUT A DOUBT only Bruce Campbell could play the dim-witted victim of unfortunate circumstances that is Ash. This movie is as well shot as it is funny. Using many of the same techniques as Sam Raimi did in his original masterpiece The Evil Dead while incorporating some new ones, he creates the best modern horror comedy. As in The Evil Dead, Ash, once again, finds himself stuck in the cabin surrounded by the undead. This movie is basically a hilarious bloodbath with great cinematography, but it really is more than that. Well…not really. |
