Review: Kill Bill: Volume 1

by Jake Sproul

Grade: C+

After six long years, Tarantino fans have not one, but two movies to look forward to. Which is exactly the problem. Kill Bill: Volume 1 is not a complete movie, and likely requires both “volumes” in order to have much continuity. Kill Bill: Volume 1 is not a stand-alone movie, and was never intended to be. It even ends with a cliff hanger ending, which frustrates me; if I am going to pay $6.50 to see a movie, I want to see a WHOLE movie. I am giving Kill Bill a marginal rating because the action was entertaining, and combined with Volume 2 which has yet to be seen, has the capability to be a complete film.
