My Valentine's Day
*happy sigh*
We went to an awesome Japanese/Thai restaurant called Lemon Grass. It's right across from Aubrey's (where Chuck works!). From the outside it looks like you can pay an extra $5 and get a hand job with dinner, but on the inside it's very fancy. They put the napkins on your lap for you. Or they would have, but they were slammed because of Valentine's Day and were extremely understaffed.
Here are Will and Aja. Hungry, but smiling nonetheless.
Also Matt and I smile through our ravenousness.
Dwight came up to visit. He was Valentining at another table across the room.
It took a really long time for our food to make it to the table. We made our origami napkins make out. It's the holiday of love, after all...
Finally, the sushi got here!! MMmmm... suuuuuuushiiiiiii...
The seal of approval!
Melinda enjoyed her pad Thai right down to the last lime
After a lovely dinner, we attempted to get Sonja to eat an entire ball of wasabe. She thought the $5 we offered her was too low, but a guy from two tables down overheard the exchange and put down $10.
Sonja agreed.
And she actually DID it!!!
And then hit the water pretty hard.
Melinda enjoyed her fried banana for dessert.
And then it was another long wait for the check.
Aja taught Mel how to fold her napkin in the shape of boobs.
Because, after all, origami is a very respected Asian tradition.
I taught them to fold them in the shape of penises, but we didn't get any pictures of that.
After the Thai food, we went next door to Aubrey's to have a few drinks (and so I could give Chuck his Valentine card).
Chase and Ben met us there. Ben enjoyed a frothy Guinness. Chase and Will looked jealously on, as the underage are wont to do...
Mel and Matt kicked the game machine's booty. The game machine received about $10 from them though, so I guess it did win in the long run...
After having a few beers at Aubrey's (as well as a few delicious shots called Chocolate Cake... thank god for franjelico...), we headed out to Lowell's, the local redneck karaoke bar.
Matt, who knew all the songs, seranaded Aja.
He's a great singer.
(She needed a drink.)
Joey, who insisted he was in hell the whole time, even lightened up a bit to sing a few lines of that well beloved Country classic that I don't know
Cheers!
Aja and Joey danced together from their seats next to the pitchers of beer.
Oooo, so sexy...
And apparently Joey thought so too. And the sparks begin to fly, sweet nothings begin to be whispered...
Matt was really getting into singing along with the karaoke
Mel was having a lovely time flirting with Ben... (barking up the *wrong tree* baby...)
... so Mel tried out the dance floor with Matt (yet another wrong tree...)
Meanwhile, an extraordinarily tipsy Chuck and and an even more extraordinarily tipsy me attempt to take our own picture.
We just can't get the hang of it...
Some nice stranger nearby offered to take one for us. And it turned out halfway decently.
Mel and Ben continue their partying on their side of the table
Meanwhile....the sexual tension EXPLODES!!!
Definitely the hottest event of the night!
Then we went home and the pics stopped. I learned a valuable lesson that night: if you know you will be drinking massive quantities of beer later on, do NOT consume sushi for dinner.
*shudder*
However, Chuck loved his Valentine's boxers I gave him!
Drop me a line...
