~*Chapter IX*~

"Hey! Whatchya doin'?" Samantha questioned looking over Candy who was sitting in their cluttered hotel room with a notebook and paper in her hands.

"Writing..." she answered vaguely.

"Duh. What are you writing?"

Candy pulled the notebook up to her chest. "Nothing you'd be interested in."

"How do you know if you won't tell me?"

"Well, it has nothing to do with you."

"I know what she's writing about," Elisa said walking out of the bathroom to the dresser. She looked at Candy in the mirror's reflection while she combed her wet hair. "She misses her Baby B, and she's writing love poems. Right?"

Candy's jaw dropped and so did her notebook. "No, I'm not!"

Samantha snatched the notebook from her lap.

"Give it back! Gimme my book!"

"Let's see...

Boy, I'd do anything for one more chance

Cuz all I want is you back again

Cuz everytime I close my eyes

I see your face and I wonder

When you close your eyes

Do you think about me?

Now I realize

I want you boy and no other

Everytime I close my eyes you're all that I see... Well, I'd say you do miss him. Candy, it's okay to miss him. It's okay to cry. That's what friends are for. Don't worry. Everything will be all right," Samantha said softly as Candy shed the tears that were now rolling down her cheeks.

"Candy...you're forgetting I once went trough the same phase. I wrote poems too. It's a good way to get your feelings down, and really know what's bugging you. I mean your fight was over these 'fantasy' people you know you'll never meet. There wasn't enough trust. It's all part of a relationship. You're just too scared you'll lose him, and he was afraid to lose you...and you two blew up on each other. You can't let things as meaningless as this interfere with your love life. You have to take a stand, or else you'll never make it. Just think about it."

"Yeah, you're right," Candy muttered as she got up to wash her face. She didn't think anymore of what Elisa had told her even though she knew she was right, but Candy didn't want to give in. She knew Brian would never forgive her for this...
