Club Craig Island is without question the greatest little getaway for stress relief one can imagine. A simple get together with paradise of absolutely perfect weather and solitude. A secret place somewhere near the Bahama Islands so remotely isolated that it can only be accessed by helicopter or a robust sea faring ship. Just a single trip to this magical land mass leaves one with a heightened sense of felicity and tranquility. This fifty acre pristine piece of property was acquired back in 1978 for a fair price under $150k. I'm sure you might be interested knowing why I would venture into an uninhabited remote island like Club Craig. Well, I have to confess I probably didn't have the money to spend during that time, nor do I now for that matter, but there was something quite mysterious, aluring and almost haunting about this island that I just had to take possession and spend as many glorious days and hours here as possible. There is so much here to explore, expand reality and widen awareness of one's existence. A terrific magical natural feeling of wonderment encapsulates you as you walk around the entire island on the white sugar sand beaches that lets you enjoy mother nature's ultimate natural foot massage. The exhilarating feeling of the tropical breezes against your face and smelling the fantastic fragrances of the ocean make you feel like you are in the most luxurious place on earth. Interestingly, as you listen to the waves gently crashing against the shore, it's almost as if they were singing you a song. Only six buildings have been constructed so far on Club Craig island. There are three free standing guest suites each equipped with a family room, bar, bedroom, kitchen and a nice enclosed patio lanai all under a thatched roof. All the suites are situated so they command the best view of everything. Also, there is the one level five room main house which really isn't much larger than the guest suites located next to a large approximately 40' x 30' building that is basically a party reception area with a stage, dance floor, kitchen and center fireplace. The last of the six buildings is just a steel building that resembles a three car garage with a workshop. Of course, there are no cars here destroying the atmosphere but I just built the garage anyway simply for storage of building materials, supplies and where I have a sheltered place to construct things. I even have electricity on the island which comes from a gas generator in an underground room located far away from the living areas so engine noise can't be heard. This electricity comes in mighty handy for keeping that beer ice cold in the refrigerator. Also, I built a conduit system of plastic pipe to conduct water from a nearby fresh water five foot high waterfall. The water system works remarkably well. What more could you ask for? All the comforts of home but with out all the stress and noise. This island offers so much that there are times that I really could care less what the rest of the world is doing. Up to date newspapers, TV programs, E-mail, and keeping in touch with the world really are not necessary items you need in your life when you reside on Club Craig Isle. I have plenty of books and literature stockpiled that I can read whenever things become boring but that rarely happens here on Club Craig Island. The place is luxurious in my opinion but luxury, of course, is perceived in many different ways only depending on ones perception of what luxury really is. There are no waiters or servants here bringing you an unbrella drink on this beach but you can certainly fend for yourself with a secluded comfortable spot on one of the beaches with a self served beverage, attitude adjustment and a dream of what life really has to offer. Sometimes though it does get lonely out here when I stay by myself. My favorite memories have with been with friends that love to share the enjoyment of this island. No one who has visited has ever left the island feeling like they did not just thoroughly have the most wonderful time of their life. It's magic I tell you, sheer magic, David Copperfield stuff, you just can't explain it, it must be experienced. If you would like to experience Club Craig island you may go by yourself or with as many friends as you want anytime. You can visit as long or as often as you like. You have an exclusive open invitation to this tropical wonderland. All you have to do is find a nice quiet and comfortable place to relax, and just close your eyes. It's really that easy... |
