Well, I bet most of you have already seen the action-packed video for the Backstreet's 2nd single from Millennium, Larger Than Life. I have read over the Net that many fans do not fancy this new "look" of theirs and stuff and A LOT, and i do mean a LOT of you think that it's totally different... well, IT IS! that's why this page is up!
Many people (like my older sister, for one) do not get the idea of WHY IS IT IN THE YEAR 3000?!?! We just got to 2000 blah blah.. Well, all I wanna say is that, the message they're trying to get across is that they'll be around longer than other artists coz of us, the fans, who've supported them thru the years...and that's why they froze themselves to come back and perform later on. heheh.
I,for one, DO love the dark,creative atmosphere of the video and I GET and am totally awed by the body-extension part during AJ's scenes! That was cool... don't get me? It's that octopus-tentacle thing (this is what everyone seems to call it!) where AJ's floating on that board thing and stuff comes out of the walls and sticks to him.... aaaah, see?;)
Yes, I bet you're thinking "ok, where's the 'NICK'S SOOO CUTE!!' part"... here goes! haha!!
His robot-look outfit absolutely fits the vid and the "dancers" at the back of him was really a nice touch.Many of my school mates tell me "Hey, Jess, he's SwEATING like mad,lah!" (note: if u don't get the LAH part, don't worry, it's total Malaysian slang!!) and i keep on telling them,"....duh! how COLD do u think it is in that suit?!?" and then, well, basically, they shut up!HAHAH!!i mean, waaahey!ain't that hot or what?But i think that's selzter sprayed onto him coz i bet their make-up artist won't let that happen!haha!! no, really, he looks real good in this vid and personally, I think he looks the best in this video,...well, yeah, he could've taken off the top part of the 'ensamble' and reveal those tattoos of his, but hey! there's always another time!( i dont think he had that at that time, anywayz)
Briiiiiiiiian! what can I say? From that back-flipping werewolf to the flying air-ball player in the famous orange suit, he deffinitely does the most outrageous stunts! I LOVE the flip he does and then he lands on the board again,.. WAY COOL!
Kevin (our recent birthday boy)is flying one of the small spaceships.WOOHOO!! go pilotboy!! Howie is well,... just sitting around in an empty room with a chair and the occasional girl slithering here and there... i don't get it!!He needs more airtime!! And what happened? did they like, run out of "star wars" ideas when they thought about his part??and what is it with these girls everywhere?!?! (heheh, bitter me!) but hey! didn't one of the girls' spaceship get blown to pieces by Kevin?hmm,...
The dance routine (like all the others) was as usual, GREAT! matches the beat perfectly! And, i have to say there is this ahem,"controversial" part in it where the girls get on top of em and then they throw em(well, not THROW,throw)to the guy dancers at the back,.. what's wrong with that, girls?? many people have said that that part shouldn't have been done but here's what i think: GO BACKSTREET!! I'm a rock/alternative music fan myself and i love the whole LTL song/video cause they're really growing outta their "Anywhere for You" sweet, yet dodgy era...and as for the dancers who get to be "thrown".... well,consider themselves high upon my JEALOUSY list.:)
All in all, it's a wonderful video and i hope everyone who disagrees just bite ur tongue COZ IT IS SO FREAKING COOL, PEOPLE!!
