The ratings given are by me,
Richie Sambora's Stranger in This Town**** I really like this album but it just doesn't get a ***** coz it only has a few real good songs in it. If you don't know who Richie Sambora is, he's the lead guitarist for Bon Jovi and this man can rock your socks off! This is his first album (and it's one of the first records i EVER bought) It's very soulful and blues-y. My favourite song off of here is One Light Burning and The Answer; gorgeous songs and the lyrics are just-phwoah!
The Moffatts - Submodalities****
This album is a big change for the boys. FOR THE BETTER! The songs are more to headbanging-newage rock and there are many good songs bout love and (don't do) drugs and gf/bfs and life and such. This is great for a different mix of songs with a teen-rock twist.
Nirvana - Nevermind***** This is the BEST Nirvana record ever made and is one of my most favourite albums. If you like Nirvana or just alternative/rock music in general, this is the album for you. It may be a little old but the sounds of Nirvana will never ever fade. Get this one if you either feel high (j/kiddin),happy, upset, mad, practically ANY emotion- it's all expressed in this one CD. Get it. GET. IT. You won't regret it.
Sugar Ray - Floored**** This is by far my favourite album by one of my favourite bands. Sugar Ray really rock things out on this one and it includes the smash hit FLY and my favourite track, RPM.
Crossroads:The Best of - Bon Jovi***** This is a great compilation of all the greatest BJ songs before 1994. Being my 2nd favourite band, these guys are waaa-hay up on my list of music makers. This includes hits like Livin' on a Prayer, Always, Bed of Roses, Wanted Dead or Alive, and lots more. This is the #1 album all BJ fans should have, and if you're not a BJ fan, where have u been all these years?!Pick one up today and you'll be hooked for life
Lenny Kravitz's Greatest Hits***** This is one of my most prized possessions! It's filled with d*mn good songs like the funky Fly Away and the wonderful track Again. One word to describe this CD: WOW.
Splender - Halfway Down the Sky***
This album is good, but the main song you'll listen to over and over AND over again is I Think God Can Explain. Overall, a big 3/5.
Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill***** This is THE BEST Alanis CD ever; with songs like U Oughtta Know, Ironic and Hand in My Pocket, you can't go wrong with this one. Everyone needs a little Alanis in their life, even if you're not an upset woman (believe it or not). I'd give this a ******, but hey, that's just too many *s!
Lifehouse - No Name Face***** If you haven't heard of Lifehouse, crawl out from under that rock and put on these headphones! MAN! THEY ROCK! Lifehouse is the #1 new band out in 2001 and this album keeps you listening to EVERY SINGLE SONG over and over again! EVERY TRACK is AMAZING, it's just unexplainable! I suggest you give the songs HANGING BY A MOMENT, SICK CYCLE CAROUSEL and BREATHING a listen and believe me, they'll blow you away!
Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory*****
This is one heck of an album. It rocks so hard, you'd most deffinitely miss out if you don't own this. Hybrid Theory is filled with 12 kIck@$$ tracks so good, you'd never take this out of your cdplayer. Every SINGLE SONG rocks, but there's only one thing i wish they'd change bout this album... it's TOO SHORT! But even with the 30-something minutes of solid good beats and rapping, it's more than enough to fill your (SCREAMYOURHEADOFFANDSHOWUSYOURVEINS) needs. Look out for my fave tracks: Crawling, Papercut, Points of Authority and Pushing Me Away and the smash hits: One Step Closer and In The End.
Train - Drops of Jupiter**** This is a great comeback album by Train and it got many new fans hooked to the incredible song of the same title.(yeah eaaah, eaah, eah).=} Other than D.o.J, there are many other meaningful-lyrics and swoon-worthy sounds such as Something More and It's About You. Deffinitely one of the CDs that's actually worth it. Edwin McCain - Messenger*** Overall, this album's OK- as it's supported by majorly poetic tracks, "I'll Be" and "I Could Not Ask For More". Get this for smooth tunes and great vocals. All in all, a good set of properly produced and performed music.THIS IS ONE OF THE TWO CDs I'D RECOMMEND TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE!
If I were to recommend only ONE CD for this whole year, THIS IS IT.
Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want***** This is a terrific album with a fantastic line-up of songs. It's my favourite non-BSB album of 99 and again, EVERY SONG in this album is good, trust me, it's GOOD. Songs include Everything You Want, You're A God and Best I Ever Had.
Shania Twain - Come on Over**** Shania is one of my favourite singers and all of my fave songs are on this album, including From This Moment On, You're Still the One, That Don't Impress Me Much, When and You've Got a Way. Enough smoochy tunes for ya?
Bon Jovi - One Wild Night 1985-2001***** This is another great compilation by the Jovis (=}) which feature live and loud songs performed worldwide from '85-'01. Get this for a real good time and it's great for parties and headbanging sessions.. enjoy!
BBMAK - Sooner or Later**** This album's great- it's got all the hits like Back Here, Still On Your Side and Again. These guys made it big in Europe and Asia first and now I think they're already known world-wide. The trio really work well together and their vocals are absolutely incredible. Check this one out
Sugar Ray - Sugar Ray*** This is the new one by Sugar Ray- all in all, it's OK but it just doesn't have that extra... you know.. something special- just the usual Sugar Ray romp sounds! Lots of love songs in here actually, they're just too macho to admit it as they hide it under loud guitar notes and tough words. heh.
Aerosmith - Just Push Play*****
This Cd is totally loud and in your face but then, there's the lovely crooning rock ballad side of it too. It's your basic Aerosmith album, and if you don't like them, u aint gonna like em any more after u listen to this but hell, THIS CD ROCKS!
