I always wonder what it is about the movie theatres that is so exciting. Maybe it's the five dollar popcorn, or the five dollar drinks. Maybe it's the guy who always smokes next to you, or the ever-elusive perfect seats.
Actually, the seats is probably part of it. The thrill of the hunt, and all that. Once I walked in early to a movie, holding my expensive food, and leading my best friend into the movie theatre. I glanced up and down the aisle, barely noticing the ideal seats that were standing open, just standing there. With a yelp I was off, hurtling seats and spilling my popcorn on the unsuspecting victims. Just as I was closing in, a couple stole it from my very eyes. I couldn't have been more shocked. What would they need those seats for?! It's not as if they were going to watch the movie. So close to perfection, yet I got stuck in the aisle where everyone walks. And I spilled my popcorn.
At any rate, everyone's always looking forward to a weekend trip to the movies. Even if the movie they want to see is something they normally wouldn't dream of watching, they fall under the effect of the weekend. Me, I wait untill I'm sure I want to watch the movie, like Rush Hour, until I go. And when I do go, I pay close attention to the prevues.
Have you ever taken food into the movies? I have. It shames me, but I have. But just a Snickers bar or two, or maybe Skittles. I love Skittles (but not the purple ones). The only thing I will merrily pay for is the Gummi Bears. I like Gummi Bears.
