David then had her husband murdered. He married her, and the dirt was tidily swept under the carpet of discretion. However, the Bible has ten stinging words to say about the incident: "But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord."
When David had his little fling, he actually broke all the Ten Commandments. He coveted his neighbor's wife, lived a lie, stole his neighbor's wife, committed adultery, committed murder, dishonored his parents, then broke the four Commandments that speak of honoring God. Lust had David by the ears. It ruled the king. He was drawn like a moth to a flame…and so will you be, if you lack understanding as to what lust is, and what it actually does to you.
