What's the Danger?

2. Secondly, the Bible is "axiomatic." That means it is self-evident...self-proving. Do you doubt that the Bible is the supernatural word of the Creator? Then read the prophecies of Matthew chapter 24, Luke chapter 21, 2 Timothy chapter 3 or Ezekiel chapters 38-40. See how the words of scripture perfectly paralleled history, before it came into being. If the Bible proves itself to be Divinely inspired, we must sit up and take note when the New Testament alone makes more than 400 direct and indirect reference to Hell as a place of eternal punishment. The Bible also proves itself to be true experientially. Let's say that you pick up a book that claimed that it is the instruction book for complex high-tech equipment. It says that you are to flick switch three and switch seven down, switch two and eight up, turn knob five to the left three degrees, push in button nine and hold down button six for three seconds. Suddenly, the once dead equipment springs to life. The book proved its claim to be the appliance's instruction book, when the appliance sprang into motion. The same thing will happen to you when you do what the Bible says. Obey the gospel and you will experience the power of Godthe invisible God of creation will make you spring to life. You will move out of the realm of intellectual belief, into the realm of experience. Instead of believing in God, you will know Him. |
