Just be Honest

God gave the Ten Commandments as a mirror—so that each of us would see ourselves as we are. As we look at the Commandments, remember these three facts:

  1. God sees the sins of your youth, as though it were yesterday. Just as time doesn't forgive transgression of civil law (i.e., a murderer is still a murderer twenty years after the crime), so time doesn't forgive sin.
  2. God sees your thought-life. He made the mind of man, so surely He can see what He made. Nothing is hidden from His omniscient eyes.
  3. He is perfect, just, good, holy and utterly righteous. He must punish every transgression. If we see a murder take place, we must do all we can to try and bring the murderer to justice. Most of humanity agrees on that, even if there is disagreement on the form of punishment.
