Great Great Grandparents; KNAPP GEORGE MICHAEL KNAPP, (son of MICHAEL KNAPP and MAGDALENA MUHLHEIM) was born April 06, 1860 in Nankin, Ashland County, Ohio, and died December 09, 1924 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. He married ANN SARAH "SADIE" DOWNS June 29, 1881 in Lutheran Parsonage, 601 Cottage Street, Ashland, Ohio, daughter of GEORGE DOWNS and SARAH ANN HAYES. She was born April 15, 1860 in Angel Place, Black Friar's Court, Dog's Island, London, England, and died October 22, 1942 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio. Sadie was only four feet, eleven as can be seen by the attached photo; the year was about 1881. Great Great Grandparents and the parents of Magdalena Knapp Marble. Their house was at 719 W. Main St., (the one that Magdalena's sister Lucy occupied), next 723 W. Main. In 1891, George Michael Knapp, a cooper of Germany ancestry, and his wife, Ann Sara Downs, whose family came from England, purchased the home for $800 from the Markle family. George Michael Knapp residence at the time of his death was 719 West Main Street, Ashland, Ohio. The length of his residence in Ashland, Ohio was 55 years. George's occupation or trade was Wood Craftsman, for F.E. Myers and Brothers. George and Sadie Knapp are buried in Ashland Cemetery, Ashland, Ohio.
