1927, Sohio Salesman from Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Laurence was born December 31, 1907 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio, and died October 15, 1968 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was the son of DUANE PIERCE MARBLE & MAGDALENA KNAPP. He married (1) MARY EDNA BAILEY June 12, 1928 in Reform, Alabama, daughter of ROBERT BRADSHAW BAILEY and SARAH JANE CARVER. He married (2) JULIA ELIZABETH FRIZZELL June 14, 1937 in Ashland, Ashland County, Ohio, daughter of CLYDE FRIZZELL and JESSIE SIMON. Lawrence Duane Marble retired from SOHIO after having multiple heart attacks, he had been employed with SOHIO for 36 years. He received a diamond headed lapel pin during his retirement ceremony at the Surrey Inn Restaurant in Ashland, Ohio. Lawrence had manage the SOHIO station on the corner of Main and Union Street of Ashland, Ohio for 15 years until October 1945. Lawrence was then promoted by the Mansfield division of SOHIO to be Salesman and Regional Manager with his home base in Mount Vernon, Ohio. His job was to assure SOHIO Stations within his region met the SOHIO image, were well supplied, and provided customer satisfaction. Lawrence got tough when standards weren't met and he was well liked and respected.
