Pokemon-(POH-KAY-MON) Short for Pocket Monsters. Loveable creatures that are used for protection or are simply kept as pets. They are usually kept in pokeballs and are used by Pokemon Trainers in battles.
Pokeball-(POH-KAY-BAWL) A small red and white round object that will contain a pokemon when it is caught. To catch a Pokemon, first you weaken it and then you throw a Pokeball at it.
Trainer-(TRAY-NER) An individual who collects and battles Pokemon. Seeks to become a Pokemon master, a person who has collected all eight badges and has all 150 Pokemon.
Gym-(JIM) A place, headed by a leader (gym leader), where fellow pokemon trainers come to battle. If you are victorious against the gym leader you would receive a badge.
Gym Leader-(JIM LEED-UR) The head of any local pokemon gym. A very powerful Pokemon trainer who waits for Pokemon trainers trying to collect all eight badges to come and battle them.
Pokemon Master-(POH-KAY-MON MASS-TUR) A person who has uptained all 150 pokemon and has won all eight of the gym leader badges.
Pokedex-(POH-KAY-DEKS) A handheld device, invented by Professor Oak, that contains information on different all types of pokemon.
Pokemon Center-(POH-KAY-MON SIN-TUR) A local center for the healing of injured pokemon. A trainers best friend. You will commonly find Nurse Joy working non-stop here.
Battle-(BAT-LE) Done against gym leaders and other trainers (opponents). A trainer's pokemon fights another trainer's pokemon. The winner is the one who depleats the opposing pokemon's strength. The winner will receive bragging rights and usually a little money.
Special Attack-(SP-SHUL ATT-AK) A Pokemon's strongest attack, thas attack is usually the last attack a Pokemon will learn.
