The next day we went to Pigeon Forge to continue the celebration.

We made it to the hotel and then my car started acting funny. Long story short: I had to call a tow service in the morning to have it towed to a garage. There is a DG right next door, also Bennett's BBQ next door on the other side, and putt-putt golf within very easy walking distance.
Boyd and Courtney came, they left with all the girls to go to The Island, I stayed at the motel by myself. All of us wouldn’t fit in his car. So thankfully one of the girls that worked there called her dad on the phone bc he’s a mechanic, and he was able to tell her how to “override” the gear shift so that we could at least get it in neutral and push my car out of the way into a parking spot. (I was backing out of the spot right next to the check-in lobby when my car started acting weird.) The girl here was so incredibly nice and helpful. Thankfully it happened after we got to the hotel and not in the parking lot of Cookie Dough Monster or Mountain Mile. We were able to get to our room and cool off right away.
Laurie says "This is why I love Mountain Breeze motel and always want to give them my business. It’s family owned, and they treat their guests like family."
Ellie suggested that I call the auto shop first, that’s exactly what I did. I explained what happened and he seemed to know exactly what I was describing and he said yes, I could have it towed there and no, I don’t have to ride with the truck driver. Then I called the tow service, explained it, they got there in about 90 minutes. I DID IT! I MADE THE PHONECALLS. Yes, I sounded like a stammering idiot but I did it. Now that’s behind me!
We went in the pool last night, it was lovely. But we didn’t stay in long bc we could see lightning in the distance and Rose was very concerned. Turned out she was right to be concerned bc a short time later it was raining and thundering like crazy! The next day we went to Crave mini golf, and mini bowling! We got the car back and it was just a rubber cap and rubber bushing that had deteriorated over time, the parts only cost $6 and $4, but the labor was $140. Which is fine, I was honestly expecting much more than that.

It (Mini golf) wasn’t too crowded at all and it actually wasn’t too awful hot, there was a nice breeze that kept it from being unbearable.
We went to the the seafood buffet. The little girls, Rose in particular lol, didn’t care for it. I expected as much. But Elizabeth is on her 2nd plate of crab legs and that’s the whole reason we came so that’s good. After that we went to the moonpie general store. The next day we wanted to try to have breakfast at mamas farmhouse, then the cat house, then crumbl cookie.
Moonpie General Store
We got to check out the basement at Moonpie General Store and Elizabeth found 2 books down there that have been on her list.
At night about 9:45, we could see the fireworks display going off at Dollywood, super cool.
Another thing from the trip to praise God for: when I was trying to find a taxi (to pick up my car), there was no immediate availability with Angels Taxi. I called another taxi company and got an automated message saying there was no availability. Elizabeth suggested Lyft or Uber, and for some reason I felt less worried about Lyft, so I downloaded the app, quickly created an account, went through the steps of setting up my first ride and immediately got a “hit,” there was a driver about 9 minutes away. On the way to get my car, I was nervously chattering to the driver about how I’d never used Lyft before and how it was super easy and fast, and he told me I got lucky because there’s only TWO drivers that work this area! Later, after I told Elizabeth that, she said I really did get lucky because after I left to get my car, she was reading reviews online for Lyft and Uber and it was loaded with complaints about how hard it was to find a ride around here! I’m just in awe, and so thankful!
