Family Dinner Night

The first week in February, we had "Breakfast for Dinner” with the usual breakfast items. Bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, etc. (It would have been Sam’s turn to pick the menu and he always chose that.) After supper they planned the next week’s menu and decided what to have at their “Stupid Bowl party.”

The next week, Laurie had Valentine gift bags for everybody, and she made a special cake for dessert to go with the delicious spaghetti that Ellie made. After supper the kids like to play games in the dining room.

When it was Laurie's turn, she made two kinds of sliders: “French dip” and Ham and cheese. Ellie made fried hominy, and for dessert we had “Crumbl Cookies” (given to her by a lady who had been a supplier for their business; she brought the cookies when she came to pick up her samples).

The last week in February, Ellie made one of Jim’s favorites (Chow mein – two ways: chicken and pork) with egg rolls, because it would have been his turn to pick the menu. Laurie made a delicious dessert “lasagna” with pieces of Reese’s peanut butter cups to honor Jim’s memory. He loved Reese’s.
