I didn’t get the mowing done today. I had hoped to do it this afternoon, since it’s not raining. But first I wanted to try out the new plywood “door” Ellie and Jim got for me at Lowe’s, and I had to figure out a way for it to be “braced” flush against the house, so no critters can slip in the cracks. I used some leftover landscaping bricks that Dwight had, to rig up a nice, neat little “frame” of sorts, to hold the plywood up straight against the house. The pest control guy probably isn’t going to like having to take apart this little “wall” to get into the crawl space. But it was the best I could come up with, given my limited engineering expertise.
Then I wanted to find a place to put one of the pieces of “yard art” I brought home from Sam’s house. I’ll take a picture of where I decided to put it and you can tell me what you think. The little “bird church” came from Sam’s house. I always loved it and admired it, and nobody else claimed it so now it’s going to be here at my house …. It will remind me of Sam every time I pull into my driveway and see it. I've always loved it. It was sitting on the front porch at his house, which is not really used, and maybe the relatives who came over to look at items didn’t look there at all? I can’t imagine how else to explain that nobody had claimed it!

Next I wanted to get Mom’s veggie plants started in her containers, and plant the azalea Tom and his family gave Mom for Mother’s Day. If it does well in this spot, there’s room to add a few more!
