The Master’s Plan

Plan B

Demona woke up feeling the last parts of her wings retract in her back. She sat up and tried to

stifle her screams while her feet changed their shape from their superior taloned toes to the

small flat feet that can easily fit into a size seven and a half heel. She let out a relaxing sigh

when It was finished and rolled over to her side. Her mate was still asleep.

"You were a busy boy last night," She whispered. "You earned the extra sleep." She got out of

bed and headed towards the nursery, passing by the broken chair she laughed.

"Might as well ask Xanatos for a new one," She chuckled.

Charlie was crying when she entered.

"Mother is here pumpkin," She cooed as she approached the crib. The infant’s sobbing slowed

a bit when he saw her. She carefully picked him up and carried him to the changing table. As

she changed his diaper she noticed his perfectly smooth stomach. No sign of a naval at all.

While it was perfectly normal for a gargoyle it appeared strange on a human. She remembered

when she and Matt had to explain to the doctor that it was a type of deformation. For some

reason Puck made sure she had a naval when she changed. Similarly her mate would loose his

when he changed at night.

The diaper was changed and it was time for feeding. Demona carried her baby to the chair and

sat down. After pulling out her right breast she inserted the nipple into his mouth.

She was in the middle of breast feeding when Owen entered the room.

"What do you want?" She asked sternly. Owen didn’t blink.

"Someone destroyed your mansion," He said.

"What?" She wanted to jump up but couldn’t

"There was an explosion. I believe that someone wants you dead."

Elisa waited until the jogger finished drinking from his sports bottle.

"Did you see anything?" She asked.

"I remember hearing a loud ka-boom," The jogger said. "I ran up to see the burning building

and noticed a white car driving way very fast. Of course I did the noble thing and ran to the

nearest phone booth. Someone was already dialing 9-1-1."

__________________________________________________________________________

"I drive the same route everyday to school," The teenager said. "I recognize the usual cars."

"And this car was different?" Matt asked.

"Yeah a white car does seem common, but this car didn’t seem familiar."

"Was it an unusual model?"

"No it was a neon, but the windows were slightly tinted and the front plate had the letters

E-P-Y-I-O-N written on it." Matt wrote it down. "Did you see the license plate?"

"Just the first two letters. G and W."

___________________________________________________________________________

"Yep I saw the guy shot that missile into the house," The woman in the pink jacket said. "I

walk the same route every morning and I noticed that car and that launcher aiming out. The

second that bastard fired and I made sure to get the license number."

"What is it?" Elisa asked.

"It’s G-W-H-0-1-6." Elisa had just finished writing down the number when her partner ran up

to her.

"It’s a white Neon," Matt said.

"Got the type and number," Elisa smiled.

"I have the front plate number as well."

"Front plate?"

"Well it’s a novelty plate. The words spell out Epyon."

Dominique Destine sat next to one of her lawyers. The one her secretary called ‘Humpty

Dumpty.’ The short pale man’s large ass completely covered his chair. His short stubby fingers

typed up the new will and contract that dealt with Night Stone Unlimited.

"You wanted to add some names?" He asked

"Yes I did," She said. "In addition to my daughter put the name of Matt Bluestone in the list

of who will own my company."

"Okay, Is that all?"

"No have it say that on his eighteenth birthday, Charlemane Bluestone-Destine shall be made a

co owner of Night Stone Unlimited."

___________________________________________________________________________

Using records at the DMV Elisa and Matt found the name and address of the owner of the car.

Jeremy Houston’s apartment building was only five stories tall. Elisa rang the main intercom

button.

"Who is it?" The Land Lord barked.

"Detective’s Maza and Bluestone," Elisa said. "Does Jeremy Houston live here?"

"Yeah."

"Can we speak with him."

"He isn’t home."

"I guess we better get a warrant to search his apartment," Matt said.

"You better get to the castle. I’ll get the warrant."

"There is still plenty of time."

"By the time we get the warrant and return here it will be sunset. Do you want to transform on

the street?"

"Your right."

__________________________________________________________________________

A white Neon with an Epyon novelty plate pulled up to the small and dirty apartment. The

scrawny young man exited the car with a grocery bag. As soon as he entered the building his

land lord stopped him.

"Hey Houston," The taller man said.

"Hmmm?" Houston turned.

"Some detectives are looking for you. You might want to keep on your toes."

"Thank you." Jeremy entered his apartment and put his groceries away. He started to boil some

water and checked his machine. No calls. The second the kettle whistled he turned off the stove

and poured the water into a cup of ramen noodles. He set the cup on the table and placed a

2Mix CD into his player. As the music started he opened a model kit and began to work on

putting together a plastic replica of a robot. He was nearly finished with dinner when he heard

a phone call.

"Hello?" Jeremy asked.

"Houston it’s Thailog you did good work, but she is still alive. We have to move to plan B."

"Mission accepted."

______________________________________________________________________

"He left again," were the first words Elisa was greeted by when she returned. Getting the

warrant took longer than she thought. The sun had set by the time she returned to her Ford

Farelane.

"Swell," Elisa said under breath. "I have a warrant to search his apartment."

"Okay you can come in," He opened the door. The second she laid her eyes on him Elisa

thought of a bear. The man had the size, bulk and nearly as much hair as one.

"This is his place," He let her in. She noticed that the main room was the kitchen

and dining area. Model kits and a CD player was on the small table. The single chair had been

repaired with duct tape so many times that there was more tape than chair. A few bits of green

peeked under the silver. The kitchen floor appeared as if it hadn’t been swept in a while. The

oven was only slightly larger than a micro wave oven. An equally small refrigerator was next to

it. She checked the garbage can. It’s only contents was a empty ramen container.

"Yikes," Elisa uttered when she entered his bedroom. Each square inch of wall was covered

with a poster of a wall scroll of Japanese animation. Make it one anime. The name ‘Gundam

Wing’ appeared on all of them. His dresser was nearly covered with completed models. His

shelves contained graphic novels of the series as well as more models. She checked his

entertainment center. Despite having a crappy apartment he had decent entertainment

equipment. On one side of the 13 inch screen was a VCR and on the other was a DVD player,

and sure enough the shelves of the TV stand contained tapes and DVDs of the same series.

She started to search for clues when she heard a tap the window. After opening it Matt, Lex,

and Gloria entered. The orchid gargoyle made a low whistle when saw the room.

"Someone is a fan."

"I bet he has every Gundam related merchandise," Lex said.

"Find any clues?" Her partner asked.

"None yet," Elisa said. "Of course I haven’t checked the desk yet."

"Any where else in his apartment?"

"No this guy is careful."

"We got to find something."

"We will," She said as she started to search through the desk. Matt growled and kicked the

wastebasket. He bent down to go through it’s contents.

"Your not going to kill him are you?" Lex asked.

"No," Matt said. "I work for the police. I have to do things the legal thing first. The asshole

is just lucky that he didn’t succeed in killing my mate."

"Would you if he did?" Elisa asked.

"I don’t know but I had a surprise for her. It’s almost been a year since we first transformed."

"Should we celebrate?" Gloria asked.

"We were," Matt smiled. "I planned on recreating our first two nights together."

________________________________________________________________________

There was not much life around the damaged mansion. The remains of the building had

police tape stretched out all over. Nothing there that would notice the three gargoyles that

had landed. Demona folded her wings and started to search around.

"Mother are you sure we should be here?" Angela asked.

"No human trys to kill me and gets away with it," Demona said. "Now help me look for

clues."

"I didn’t know you were into detective work," Broadway said.

"I guess my love has started to rub off on me, but if I find the bastard first he is a dead man."

Angela sighed and hung her head. Broadway placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Rome wasn’t build in a day," He said. "She is changing, but it can’t all be done at once."

"I know. I just want her to be perfect."

"I guess everyone wants their mothers to be perfect. Matt is bringing out the best in her."

"Stepfather is a blessing," She closed her eyes. Broadway leaned down for a kiss. Their lips

were about to touch when a bullet whizzed through the air and struck Broadway in the

shoulder. The pale gargoyle’s eyes glowed as he roared out in pain.

"Broadway!"

"Get out of here there is more of them." They both leaped towards two different directions,

both missing more bullets.

Demona heard the guns and looked up. The black clad humans maneuvering about on the

remains of her mansion were equipped with sniper rifles. The azure gargoyle’s eyes lit up as

she climbed the sides of the building. She watched every movement as she crawled towards

the closest soldier. Without even a snarl she pounced forward knocking the human to the

ground.

"Human," Her rage boiled with in. "This is for trying to hurt my daughter." Her talons tore

through the cap and held the bastard by his hair. With her other hand she ripped out

his throat.

"Still haven’t changed," The voice sounded like Goliath’s but the tone was different. She

looked up into a nearby tree and saw red eyes look at her. Her own eyes glowed the same

shade of red as she leaped up into the tree and climbed. Thailog waited until she got a little bit

closer before he spread his wings and glided off.

Demona only climbed a bit more before following. She wasn’t going to forget what that

bastard did to her. She shifted her wings to catch a thermal that lifted her higher. She wasn’t

sure what she will do when she finally catches up to him, but she will make him wish he did

die in that roller coaster fire. He dived down into an alley and she dove down after him.

She was closing in on him when an net fell on her. It wasn’t an ordinary net it’s mesh was

was made out of a fine metal and thin wires. She tried to land carefully but the net gave off

and electrical charge that knocked her out.

A few feet from where the female gargoyle’s body landed a lit cigarette butt hit the cement.

One second later a tan leather shoe stepped on it, grinding out its fiery light.

"Mission accomplished," Jeremy Houston said.

________________________________________________________________________

A foot soldier raced along the ground. He had nearly taken out the lavender female when he

heard crunching sounds a few feet away. He lurched foreword, the deadly end of his rifle

aimed at shadows. He turned the corner and saw a still body lying in the grass and slowly

approached it.

"What the fuck did they do to you?" He asked when he saw his comrade’s slashed throat.

"This!" Broadway leaped down behind him and punched the punk in the back of the head

with his good arm. The sniper collapsed next to his friend. Broadway noticed the fresh corpse

and blinked.

"Broadway?" Angela’s voice called out. "Mother?"

"Any more goons?" Broadway asked.

"No, There are two knocked out thugs up here."

"One unconscious and one dead down here."

"Dead?" Angela leaped down. "Oh mother."

"It was a maternal instinct, They nearly killed us so..."

"Where is she?"

"I don’t know. I thought she was with you."

Delilah pressed her lips against couch cushion she was holding.

"Matt," She whispered. "You watched over me all day. The transformation hurts? I’ll make

it better." She kissed the pillow again while imagining she was kissing him. She remembered

what he was like when she sat next to him. Warmth filled her body as she remembered his

scent and the way he tasted. "I wish you could be mine."

"Delilah?" Brentwood entered the room. "What you doing?" Delilah dropped the cushion

in sheer embarrassment and spun around.

"Brentwood?"

"What you doing?"

"No what are you doing?"

"Oh What are you doing?"

"I was acting out a book I read."

"Oh, I’m almost done with Charlotte’s Web. They are at the fair."

"That is a good book," She paused when they heard a sound.

"What is that?" Brentwood asked.

"I don’t know. We better check."

They were both in shock when they discovered who had made the sound.

"Mast-Bad!" Brentwood started to call Thailog by the old name but remembered who he

truly was.

"Your not welcome here," Delilah frowned.

"Ah my dear," Thailog smiled. "Do you know how I feel now?" The clones did not reply. "I

am quite aroused by you. Let’s go home my love."

"I don’t love you!"

"I knew it might come to this. Fried cheese." Both Brentwood and Delilah blinked.

"Master," The smaller gargoyle started to crawl towards his creator.

"No Brentwood. He is Thailog and Thailog is evil. Lets find Uncle Derek."

"Delilah return!" The black gargoyle commanded.

"No. We are not slaves." She ran off. Brentwood followed her.

Elisa wrote down the exact height, hair and eye color of Houston.

"Any distinguishing features?" She asked.

"None that I know of, of course he has a certain dress style."

"Really?"

"Mostly tight shorts and tanks. He dresses like that Heero guy."

"What Hero?"

"You been in his pad, you have seen his obsession. Heero is one of the characters from that

show."

"You won’t mind going to the 23rd precinct and work with a composite artist?"

"No problem."

____________________________________________________________________________

Gloria glided in front of the group. She turned her head to see how Matt was holding up. His

face had no expression.

"We’ll find this guy," She assured. Matt said nothing. "Elisa is getting a description of the

creep.’

"We could always try a Gundam convention," Lex joked. Gloria glared at him. This was not

a joking matter.

"Lex, Gloria, Matt!" Broadway’s voice called out. The three of them slowed and wait for

he and Angela to catch up.

"Broadway what happened?" Lexington asked when he saw his rookery brother’s wounded

arm.

"We were searching for clues at the mansion and snipers ambushed us," Angela explained.

"We kicked their asses," Broadway grinned.

"Mother killed one."

"Where is she?" Matt asked.

"She went after someone," Angela said. "We noticed her claw marks and the claw marks of

another in a tree. She went after that person."

"Okay were going to return to the castle and figure out where to go from there," Matt said.

Someone was waiting for them when they returned.

"Talon what brings you here?" Angela asked.

"Thailog is still alive," The mutate said.

"How?" Lexington asked.

"Where?" Angela snarled.

"Who?" Gloria asked.

"Goliath’s clone," Broadway explained. "We thought he was dead."

"What happened to your arm?" Talon asked.

"Sniper rifle," Angela explained. "I’m going to take him to see if Owen has something for the

pain." As soon as they left Talon spoke again.

"He took Malibu, Hollywood and Burbank."

"What about Brentwood?" Lex asked.

"He was with Delilah. We thought we had them in control of themselves but we had no idea

about the secret code word. Delilah heard it, but she is further along than the others. She

encouraged Brentwood to follow her."

____________________________________________________________________________

The flame of the lighter singed the end of the cigarette. Jeremy Houston took a long drag

before speaking.

"Your not too pissed are you?"

"No I’m not," Thailog replied. The two of them were about to enter a different room.

"May I ask why?"

"I still have three members of my clan, my loyal human servant and..." The door opened.

strapped to a metal table was a snarling Demona.
