Microwave Tips

If food is seasoned first… Let stand 2 hours or food will be tough.

No wax paper on potatoes, rice or meats. Wax paper takes the moisture out of the food.

Paper towels for breads should be on low power setting and for long cooking times.

If recipe gives two cooking times, always use the lesser time.

Canned vegetables should be cooked on the High setting.

Frozen Vegetables should have outer paper removed, leaving veggies in original box. Place an “X” cut on the box, microwave on high for 5 minutes.

DO NOT MICROWAVE FROZEN BAGS, THEY MELT.

To defrost Frozen Juice Concentrate. Take out of container and place in a microwave-safe container. Time should be set at medium:

6 oz = 45 seconds to 1 minutes 15 seconds

12 oz = 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes
