Physical Appearence: Kusanagi has been given a combination of many things both outside and inside. Her voice has been constructed to be a late female's 30's, but her body has been given the appearence of a female in her early 20's. It is easy to see that Kusanagi's bodily structure is a picture of health and fitness. Her shape is quite thin and very lean like a cheetah along with a medium bust. Shoulder length black hair is the shade of the colour of night and is usually worn down. Mei's skin is Artic white and does not have any human pigment in it at all. She is said to of been like a ghost, but her pitch black eyes are the feature that attracts the most attention from anyone who may encounter her.
However on the inside, she has quite an advanced mind that is easily capable of solving problems, devising plans, altering battle tactics as well as many other features that would seem almost to difficult for another member of the US Intergalactic Space Marines. Commander Kusanagi may also over ride computer systems with a built in device in her right arm called "Slasher" that if activated, seems to have the outer appearence of a small spike that is tipped with a small, red blinking light. Her eyes are built in with A.V.A (Advanced Visual Aid) which enable her to see unseen obstacles before her fellow collegues of the R.A.A.S while in training or dog fights.
Personality: Although she does not have the ability to convey genuine emotions, she has been programed with the 4 major emotions in the mind's pattern: Happiness,Sadness, Anger and Determination. She had control over these functions but she is still quite cautious having these feelings, should she ever loose her concious function due to them. But one major feature has made the Commander's intentions more personal are the Xenomorphs, the "End of Humanity". The more she is enticed in to a battle with the extra terristrial species, the more determined she becomes.
Background: Commander Mei Kusanagi started out part of an advisorial system called C.A.T (Computer Advisorial Triangle). But a year after she was put on the Weyland Yutani Manufactural Agency (W.Y.M.A)Carter Burke suggested that one particular part of a C.A.T should be upgraded in to a far more intelligent piece of hardware; namely Kusanagi's systems.
There was much debate whether or not the act should be legally carried out. Such concerns were refered back to the Nostromo's incident with Ash, the andriod which apparently tried to kill Lieutenant Ripley and her crew in order to return a Xenomorph to the Weyland Biological Weapon Department for further research.
But besides the issue, a majority of Weyland Yutani members decided to test the effects of forming a C.A.T system in to the real world.
It took 7 years to reach a potential upgrade in the selected C.A.T but finally, the system began to take form of a near human form save for a base of mechanical stations. Mei Li Kusanagi had been born.
As years past, Kusanagi began to mature like that of an ordinary human, but she was frequently in solitude, which did not let her experience the world beyond the Mechanics Department. It wasn't until 2099 she was able to fully communicate with the rest of Weyland.
Although Mei Li was originally intended to take be the Company's Secterial Advisor, Sergent Alvin Apone requested Weyland if he and his team of Space Marines could use Kusanagi for purposes of tactical procedures in wars. The chief manager of the Technology Department Wayne Ling was quite reluctant at exposing a piece of valuable equipment to the risk of being re-programed by the US Marines, but after much thought, he considered that a C.A.T with more experience would be even more precious than before.
Mei found herself being taught to fly fighters, operate technologicaly advanced weaponry and being introduced to a motely team of military roughnecks. Somehow though she seemed to find that being a Marine was quite "unique" and decided to change postitions. Her talents earnt her a good number of high ranks. Her highest so far is Commander.
Not only was Kusanagi a fully-fleged Marine, she had founded an elite team of fighter pilots who had volunteered to become aspiring combatants in future wars. All had been strongly motivated by the idea of meeting Mei Li. The R.A.A.S had been assembled.
In the year 3082, Kusanagi had recieved an offer to assist on a rescue operation involving a whole group of colonists (known to Weyland Yutani as "Terraformers") who had been setting up Atmosphere Processors on Planet LV-426. But unfortunately, Kusanagi had to be upgraded for another R.A.A.S mission.
Aftermath: The next thing that Mei Li Kusanagi had been brought to the attention of was the fact that all who had gone to LV-426 had never came back. Kusanagi despite her lack of proper emotions, felt a small sense of contempt for her collegues. But as much as she is alone, she still preforms tasks with R.A.A.S, fully aware that there is no hope of seeing any of her fleet ever again.
