Nick and Tabitha sat around the table together going over the directions that Randi had handed them. Tabitha had never heard of the song they were going to be shooting a video for. She was familiar with most of their music, but not this one.
"Um….Nick? What is this song about?" Tabitha asked with confusion in her voice.
"Well, it's called "I Need You Tonight." It's a ballad that I've been singing during the solo segments of our shows. Each of us, meaning me and the guys, were all going to be shooting a video for our solo's."
"Oh, ok! But, you still didn't answer my question." Tabitha said as she glanced over at Kelly to make sure she was all right. "What is the song about?"
"Sorry! It's about loving someone, and needing them. Basically, telling giving off the message that 'I'll always be there', and 'say what's on your mind.' It's kind of hard for me to explain with out you hearing it first."
Randi had left the room they were all in. He wanted to meet with the director and make sure everything was set for the video shoot. Nick decided this was the perfect time to catch up with Tabitha.
"So, Tabs? Can I call you that?"
"Of course! You can call me 'butt head' if you want. But, I'd prefer you didn't." She said while laughing.
"What has been up with you? I mean, it's been a long time since we've seen each other. I mean, I was only 7! How is your mom and you dad?"
"Well, I've been pretty busy lately with modeling. You probably remember me as the little girl who would play in the mud, right?" Nick laughed and nodded his head. "Yeah, well, a few months at a modeling school can break those bad habits. I just turned 17 about 3 weeks ago. My mom's doing great, in fact, she is here at the Ritz hotel with me. My father died last year….cancer." Tabitha said, her voice beginning to crack.
"Oh wow! I had no idea. I'm real sorry, Tabitha. Yeah, I would love to see your mother again. It's been too long. How long are you in L.A. for?"
"I think were here for about a week. Then we'll be heading back over to James Town. Then I'll be coming down to Florida for a few weeks."
"Really? Florida? What part of Florida?" Nick asked.
"I think Orlando. Randi wants my me and my mom to relocate."
"All the guys live in Orlando! I'll have to introduce them to you." Nick said.
Tabitha walked over to Kelly, picked her up and placed her on her lap. Nick played with Kelly's bare toes that were sticking out from her tiny sandals. She giggled and laughed.
"You like that, Kelly! Nick's funny, huh?" Tabitha said while kissing Kelly on the head.
"Yesh……Tabs a butthead." Kelly spit out.
Nick's eyes grew big and he began to laugh. Tabitha also began to laugh. Both of them didn't realize Kelly had heard their conversations.
"Oh, Kelly! You better not say that in front of mommy!"
"No…no say to mommy! You, no worry."
"She's pretty smart! Adorable too." Nick said.
"Yeah, she's almost too smart! She is a cutie, isn't she?"
"Dats, right! Evwee one tinks I am cutie."
Nick and Tabitha were once again entertained by Kelly's remarks. Randi walked in during the laughter and looked confused.
"Did I miss something?" She said.
Tabitha stood up and held Kelly on her hip. Nick grabbed the baby bag that was lying on the floor. As Tabitha walked through the door, Kelly waved at Randi.
"Tabs a butthead….and I a cutie." Kelly repeated.
Nick shook his head at Randi and she just shrugged her shoulder's. They all walked out into the studio. It was decorated like a living room. There was a fireplace, a large leather couch, and wool blankets lying around. Tabitha figured it must be taking place in the winter.
"Nick, why don't you head over to your dressing room. And Tabitha, this is yours. Your outfits are labeled 'act 1', and all the way up to 'act 4'. We'll be filming act 1 first." Randi said.
"Really? Because I usually thought we started with 4." Tabitha said sarcastically and smiled at Nick.
Nick just laughed. She had almost the same personality as him. He walked over to his dressing room and Tabitha walked into hers.
