Chapter Seven

Tabitha sat on the other end of the phone listening to her Meg and Jess carry on in their own conversations. Tabitha just sat back and laughed.

"Oh my gosh, Jess! Tabitha is hanging with Nick, for this whole week!" Megan yelled.

"I know.....Do you think she'll mention us at all?"

"She has too. Were her bestfriends! Right Tabs?" Meg asked.

"You guys, of course! Oh wait, hang on! Their's another call. Let me click over." Tabitha said while clicking over.

Nick and Brian were fighting over the last piece of cheeze pizza that was lying helplessly in the box.

"Brian! You touch that piece, you lose your arm! And then what would all of your fans say when you can't play your guitar!" Nick said with a hint of sarcasm.

"Fine, Nick! I'm not going to touch the last piece. I realize your a growing boy. Or is that just what you say to cover up the extra weight you've put on." Brian said and quickly dodged the pillow Nick through at him.

"I'm just growing! Now, shut-up! It's ringing and I don't want Tabitha to hear what a dork you are, Brian."

It was too late. Tabitha had already picked up the phone, but she didn't say anything because she found the situation to be very humerous.

"Nick?" Tabitha said while laughing.

"Jesus...Tabs?" Nick said as he jumped back in surprise.

"Yeah, that's me. Hey hang on a minute. I've got to click over and hang up with my friends."

"Bone was right! She was on the phone with her friends." Nick said as Brian laughed.

Tabitha clicked back over to hear both of her friends ranting and raving about how Brian's eyes are so blue, and Nick's has grown so tall.

"GIRLS! GIRLS! JESS! MEG?" Tabitha said whilel breaking up their conversation.

"Your back! What took you so long?" Meg asked.

"I've got to let you go. It's Nick on the other line. He's going to come over and meet with my mom and me."

"Ok, well I guess that is a legit reason." Jess said while laughing.

"I'll call you guys later!" Tabitha said and she clicked over to Nick.

***********************************************

"Nick? I'm back! Sorry it took me so long."

"It's ok, Tabs! Is it to late to come over?" Nick asked.

"Nah, your only a floor above me! Just take the elevator."

"Good one, genious! I'll be right over! Oh, do you want to meet Brian?"

"Is the the 'soon to be one armed Backstreet Boy'?"

"You heard that, huh?" Nick said while laughing.

"Yeah, I did! When you guys come, just be quiet. Kelly is sleeping."

Tabitha and her mother sat in the livingroom area of the suite. Lynn honestly couldn't wait to see Nick again. She couldn't even picture what he would look like. She had seen a few picture's of him in the magazines, but it wasn't the same as it used to be. She was used to seeing the full, chubby apple cheeks and his bright blue eyes up close. Magazines didn't do him justice.

"Oh, their here! I want to answer the door! I want to see at first hand what Nicky looks like after all these years." Lynn said as she ran over to the door.

"Prepair yourself mom. I'm taller then you and he's taller then me. He'll squash you like a bug." Tabitha said while laughing.

Lynn didn't even bother peeking through the peep hole. She grabbed onto the handle and opened the door. What she saw standing before her brought back so many old memories. It was definatly Nick. It was the Nick she remembered, only much taller. It was the same little boy that would help Tabitha cross the rode and bring her safely to her mother.

"Nicky?" Tabitha's mom whispered.

"Mrs. Porter!" Nick said in a excited hushed tone.

She went to embrace him and as she did she met with his apple cheeks which were no longer chubby. She took both of them in her hands and pinched them Which made Nick blush and Tabitha and Brian laugh.

"Oh sweety, your so handsome! And who is this? He's a looker too, isn't he?"

"Who this? This is just Brian. I guess he is alright!" Nick said while walking into their livingroom suite.

"Hello, it's nice to meet you! I'm just Brian. Brian Littrell." He said while shaking Lynn's hand.

"Tabs, this is Brian! So, now you've met only two fifths of the group." Nick said as he sat down next to Tabitha and Lynn.

"Hi, Tabitha! It's great to finally meet you. Nick told us all about how he knew you back in pre-school. Nick also told us how you have a talent for the video shoot thing."

"I wouldn't call it a talent. I mean, I was pretty nervous at first. But, everyone was so nice to me. And the song was so beautiful."

The four of them sat and reminiced about their old times together and Brian just sat and listened on. He found Tabitha to be very warm and friendly. The same with her mother. He couldn't for the life of him figure out why Nick would have ever let this one slip out of his reach. Even if she was only 5 and he was only 7 at the time.
