Chapter 10 - The Fight; Enter Jake

****Two Weeks Later****

"Hey Bri…..an!" My heart stopped when I opened the door. I had been expecting Brian and the rest of the guys. That’s not who I ended up face to face with.

He grabbed my hand and pulled me towards him. "Hello Faith." The sound of his voice made my skin crawl. I freed my self from his grasp and tried to slam the door. He stuck his foot in the way. I pushed with all my strength and finally got the door shut between us and locked it. I slumped against the door and I could fell the vibrations as he pounded on it.

Hope and Destiny had gone back to the city. Destiny was going to be doing a shoot for a magazine that liked the pictures that she had sent them. She wanted to be a model. Hope went with her.

Of course, he would pick now to show up!

Then I remembered what Brian had said about calling them if he ever showed up. I ran to the phone and grabbed the receiver. I looked at the paper on which I had written their numbers.

I tried the house first, 674-3641. Damn it! It was busy! BJ probably. I tried Brian’s cell phone. 319-6477. The call didn’t go through, Damn you Brian! Either his phone wasn’t on or he hadn’t recharged the batteries.

He was pounding harder on the door. "Let me in! I just want to talk to you."

"Yeah right. I’ve heard that one before! Too many times in fact!"

There was only one other person I could call. The only other person who knew about everything. Nick. I dialed his number, 319-8182. And prayed to God that Nick, that anyone would pick up the phone. That it would ring.

I listened as it rang. Someone picked it up. "Hello?" It was the most pleasant thing I had heard in a long time. I was so relieved.

He was yelling and screaming at her to open the door. "Hello? Nick?"

"Yeah, it’s me. Faith? Faith is that you?"

"Yeah it’s me." My voice was shaking, like the rest of my body.

"Faith, are you all right?" He could tell by the tone in my voice that something was wrong.

"Well at the moment yes, but I don’t know how much longer that door will stand. He’s here, Nick. He’s here. And he’s mad about something. I don’t know what and I don’t want to know." Jake was still yelling and pounding. I was hysterical. I was crying.

"Jake’s there? How did he find you?"

"I don’t know how he did, but he did. And I’m scared."

"Okay, I’ll be there in two minutes!"

"Okay. Please hurry."

"I will." With that he hung up. I made my way into the front room. I could hear him yelling

"Faith I just want to talk to you! I’m so sorry about everything."

"No I’m not opening this door. GO AWAY! Haven’t you done enough?"

Just then I heard a car pull up, I heard not one, but two car doors slam. The pounding stopped. There was a light knock at the door. "Faith are you OK?" It was Brian.

"Yeah, I’m okay."

"Okay. We are going to make sure that you stay that way." This time it was Nick.

I heard muffled talking and then a I heard Jake start to yell. "What are you doing coming over to my woman’s house?!?"

"Like hell she’s your woman!" I heard Nick yell. All that could be heard then was the sounds of a fight. Then the slamming of a car door. I was almost afraid to open the door, of worry that it had been Nick and Brian that had left.

Five minutes later I got up enough courage to open the door. There sitting on the steps in front of the house were Nick and Brian.

"Hey Faith," Brian said, turning around. He didn’t look too bad.

"Hi Brian," I whispered.

That’s when Nick turned around. My heart almost stopped. He had a black eye and a bloody nose. He looked awful. "Hey, Faith," He said, trying to smile. He grimaced at the pain.

"Oh, my...Lets get you inside. Are you OK?" I said, moving closer to then. Brian helped Nick stand up and they made their way up the stairs.

"Yeah I’ll be okay." We went inside and I shut and locked the door after us. Nick sat on the couch, I got him something to clean up his bloody nose and Brian found a steak in the freezer.

"Here, Frack, put this on your eye."

"No way!"

"Yeah, c’mon do it."

"No Frick."

"Nick please. It will make your eye feel better," I asked.

"Yeah. Listen to the lady," Brian backed me up.

"Okay fine, I’ll put the meat on my eye."

****Ten Minutes Later****

"How are you doing Nick?"

"Pretty good. How about you?"

"I’m not the one that was in a fist fight."

"Yeah but you had to have been scared," Brian said.

"Yeah, I was. That’s why I called. I called the main line and it was busy, Brian you might want to check your cell battery because I called your phone too and it didn’t pick up. Or maybe you had it turned off. I’m just glad that Nick had his on."

"Do you think that he’ll come back?"

"He might. And Hope and Destiny...I need to call them and tell them not to come back for a while. I don’t want to put them in danger."

"Well, you can call them from our house because there is no way that I am leaving you here by yourself. It just isn’t going to happen. You are coming up with us and you are staying there until psycho boy leaves. Go get your stuff together," Brian said.

I was shocked. I hadn’t expected that. "Are you sure?"

"Yes I’m sure. Now go get your stuff."

"Okay okay I’m going." I went and gather together some of my things, clothes toothpaste and shoes. You know the usual. I put everything into a duffel bag and walked back out into the living room. I walked over to where Nick was laying on the couch. "Hey," I said quietly.

"Hey, you ready to go?"

"Yeah." He started to sit up. "Whoa. Hold on. Lay back down, I want to look at your eye."

"Okay." He laid back down. I took the steak off and looked at his eye. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be.

"I think that you’ll survive."

"Oh, well, that’s good," He smiled. His nosy had stopped bleeding a while ago and he was going to be fine.

"How come you look like this and Brian barely had a scratch?"

"Well," Brian started, walking in the room from the kitchen. "He didn’t really pay any attention to me, accept when I tried to get him off of Nick. That guy is huge!"

"Yeah I know."

"Well, this is nothing compared to the wounds that he ran away to lick," Nick said, with a smirk. Brian laughed.

"Well, lets get him back home," I said, pointing to Nick.

"Good idea. Lets go."

"Wait! I just thought about something."

"What?"

"They are gonna want to know why Nick has a black eye."

"We’ll tell them that, I...um...That I ran into a door or something."

"No! You are not going to lie on my account. It’s not fair to them and it’s not fair to you either. I’m just going to have to tell the truth. I’ll tell them everything."

"Are you sure you want to do this?" Brian asked me.

"No, But I have to. It’s only fair."

"Okay. Let’s go then." Nick said. We walked out of the house and I locked it up. I locked my car up and got into Brian’s Jeep. (They each got their own car)
