Chapter 19 - Wedding Plans

“Faith, what are you going to do about being given away?” Hope brought up a very important point.

It was now a week after we had been back from Kentucky and Hope and Destiny were back at the house on the beach, helping me do some last minute things for the wedding.

“Well, I guess I could always call my cousin.”

“Which one would this be?”

“Well, I don’t think that the two of you have ever met him, he’s been kinda busy.”

“What’s his name?”

“Josh. No one calls him that though, they all call him JC.”

“They?”

“Yeah, the people that he hangs out with. I think I will call him and ask him to give me away. I was going to have them come to the wedding anyway.”

“They?” This time it was Destiny.

“Yes, they. He has some friends that I have met. They are really nice guys and I want them to come to the wedding.”

“You.... OK. Well at least we have that settled. Now....”

We went on with the planing of the wedding. It wasn’t going to be very big. Basically the people that were there at Christmas, my brothers Seth and Shane, and then JC and his four friends.

About two hours later Brian came into the room where the three of us were planing. He and the guys had been on baby duty while we were putting the last touches on the wedding.

“Hey, can I borrow Faith for a little while?” He inquired of Hope and Destiny.

“Yeah, sure. Go ahead.” Hope said.

“Oh, gee, thanks. I just feel so loved right now.” I said and stuck my tongue out at her as Brian pulled me out of the room.

“You should feel loved.” He said as he held my hand. He was leading me outside and down to the beach.

“And why is that?”

“Because you are.”

“Oh, really?

“Yes, really.”

“Oh, OK.”

He laughed. Then grew serious. I tensed up a little. Brian is only serious when something is really important, or something is very wrong. “Um.... Faith?”

“Yeah, Brian?”

“Well, um...I need to talk to you about something.”

“What is that?”

“Well...” He sat down in the sand, pulling me down next to him. “See, the guys and I aren’t going to be able to stay here for very much longer. We are going to have to go back to Florida.”

“Which means that I’m moving to Florida?”

“Well, I wanted to make sure that it was Ok with you. I mean I’m sure that I could figure out something if you really didn’t want to move, but it would be a lo-” I cut him off with a quick kiss.

“Brian, I’m moving to Florida. I think it’s best. I can’t take Tommy away from all the people that he knows, and I want to be with you.”

Brian looked at me, dumbstruck. “Did you just say that you would move?”

“Yes I did, stupid! What did you think I was going to do? Tell you that I love you, get married to you, have you adopt my son and then live 3000 miles away from you? I don’t think so!”

“Well when you put it that way...” He smiled at me. “So you are going to tour with us when it’s time, right?”

“Wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

“Good. You’ll love it.”

We sat there for a minute, not saying anything. Then I broke the silence. “Hope brought something up earlier today. It’s about the wedding.”

“And what would that be?”

“Well she asked me who was going to give me away since my parents still aren’t talking to me.”

“Have to figured out who you want to do that?”

“Well, actually, yes I have. But I’m afraid that you aren’t going to be to happy about it.”

“Why? Who is it?”

“Well, it’s my cousin...”

“Why would I care about that?”

“You didn’t let me finish. His name is Joshua, but everyone calls him JC. Josh Chasez.”

“JC? JC from N SYNC?”

“Yeah, that would be him.”

“I didn’t know that you were related to him.”

“Well I am. He’s my older cousin.”

“Do you really want him to give you away?”

“Well, it’s not really a question of want. He is the only person that could give me away. I can’t get one of my brothers to do it; I’m lucky that they are coming at all. And all of the guys are already in the wedding. Plus I haven’t seen Josh in a while.” Brian laughed a little. “What?”

He smiled at me. “It’s just that I've never heard anyone call him Josh. Only JC.”

“I guess that must seem strange. But I’ve always called him Josh. Everyone else in the family has resorted to calling him JC. But that’s how the rest of the world sees him. To me he is still the blue eyed, older cousin that used to stick up for me when my brothers would pick on me.”

“That’s cool. It is just kinda hard to believe that you are talking about the same guy that I know.”

“Well, like I said, I haven’t see him in a while. So I’m going to have to call him and see if he is up to the challenge.”

“Is this really what you want?”

“Yes it is.”

“OK, then I really don’t care if you had Yoda walk you down the aisle and give you away, as long as you were happy.”

Do you mean that?”

“Of course I do. I love you Faith.”

“I love you too, Brian.” I hugged him.

“We should probably go inside. I’m not so sure I trust AJ with the baby.”

“Yeah, no kidding! Lets go!”
