Chapter 3 - A Trip To The Store

"I'm going to the store, we need some food in this house!" I was starving.

"OK, see you in a little bit," Hope called from the living room, where her and Destiny were setting up the stereo system.

"Bye," was all I got from Destiny. I walked out of the house with car keys in hand.

When I got to the store I pulled into a parking place near the front. When I got out I noticed the car next to me looked familiar. I looked in the window and saw a small boy asleep in the back seat. I walked into the store and went over to the produce section. I wasn't looking were I was going and ran right into someone. I looked up and saw that it was Aaron's big brother.

"Excuse me."

"I'm sorry I wasn't looking were I was going."

"Frack are you running into people again?" a familiar voice said from the other side of the person I had run into. I looked around him and was shocked to see the person standing behind him.

"Faith?" Brian asked, his eyes nearly popping out of his head.

"Hi Brian!" He came over and gave me a quick hug.

"You two know each other?"

"You're quick, Slick. I met Faith while we were in Lexington, at the church the day we performed."

"Oh, but aren't you the girl that I saw at the airport earlier today, when Aaron ran off?"

"Would that be the cute little blond boy that came over and sat next to me?"

"Yeah that would be him. He takes after me ya know."

"Except for the cute part, he gets that from being around me," Brian said with a little boy smile.

I smiled at there antics "Yes, I was at the airport this morning to pick up my friend Hope. The one that lives in Lexington."

"Yeah I remember you talking about her. Is she here with you?"

"Nope, she is back at the house, along with our friend Destiny."

"Faith, Hope and Destiny? Interesting."

"Don't start on that subject Kaos, she's liable to hit you upside the head."

"Hey B-Rok, who's the pretty lady?" a new voice said, coming from behind me. I turned around to see three more guys, and a girl about a year or two younger than me. Behind the older girl, I noticed a younger one, about Aaron's age, hiding.

"Guys this is Faith. Faith these are the guys."

"Oh, that is very helpful Brian." I gave him a grin.

"You want names?" I nodded "Oh man! OK. Let me see here, there's my cousin, Kevin, that's Howie, and the person who asked who you were is AJ. And although you weren't formally introduced you have met Nick. This is BJ, Nick's younger sister, and behind her is Angel, another one of Nick's sisters, and Aaron's twin."

"It's nice to meet you all."

"Hey, B-Rok, what did you do to her?" AJ asked.

"What do you mean?"

"The only way you meet pretty girls is when you apologize to them for something you did." As soon as he said that he got smacked upside the head by BJ. "Ouch! What was that for?"

"You know you deserved it AJ. You're making Faith uncomfortable." Actually she couldn't have been farther from the truth. I was perfectly comfortable around these people.

All eight of them. Yes, eight. As BJ told AJ off, a girl about three years younger than BJ came over to the group. She sorta gave me a look like ‘Who are you?’

"Eh em." The girl cleared her throat.

"Oh, hey! Faith this is my other, other little sister, Leslie. Leslie, this is Faith, a friend of Brian's, I think." Nick made the introduction.

"I'd like to think that we are friends." Brian said. Leslie relaxed and smiled at me. It was then that Kevin noticed that we were blocking people and making it difficult for them to shop.

"Why don't we continue this conversation somewhere else. We just have to pay for our food and then we'll be ready to go."

"I still have some shopping to do. But I shouldn't take very long." I said with a smile.

"OK" Brian got a mischievous grin on his face. "Why don't we help her out? Do you have a list?"

"Well, yeah." I pulled out the shopping list I had written before leaving.

"OK then tear it up into eight pieces, give one to Nick, Leslie, BJ, Angel, AJ, Howie, myself and keep one for yourself. Kevin can go pay for our stuff and we can help you with your stuff. That way we can get out of here faster."

"OK if you want to help."

"Anything to get us out for here sooner!" Nick complained.

"OK." I tore the list into eight pieces with about five things on each section. We all went in our separate directions. Within fifteen minutes we were done and out of the store.

"OK, now were are we going to finish our conversation?" Brian asked as soon as all the groceries were put into their rightful cars.

"Why don't you guys follow me to my house? That way I can check in with Destiny and Hope, and they can meet you all."

"Works for me! Lets go!" AJ was very enthusiastic. I looked at him strangely and dismissed it.

"Why don't a few of us ride with Faith? You know so it wont be so crowded in the cars?" Nick suggested.

"Good idea, Frack. You and I can ride with Faith and the rest can follow us. Is that OK Faith?"

"Yeah, sure. I could use the company." They all got into their cars and Brian and Nick got into my car. Brian sat up front with me and Nick sat in the back. The car ride was almost silent until they pulled onto the road that lead to both our house and the big house farther up. Brian burst out laughing.

"Is there something funny Brian?" I asked. He just laughed harder. Just before I pulled in front of the house that the girls and I were renting Brian stopped laughing long enough to talk.

"NO! Keep driving. Just keep going." I looked at him as though he thought he needed to be committed but did as he said. When we pulled up in front of the big house at the end of the driveway, Brian and Nick got out of the car, followed by me. Everyone else was getting out of the other cars too.

"Welcome home, everyone!" Brian said laughing once again, after everyone was out of the car.

"WHAT!!!!! You mean YOU are the big group that is renting this house while we're going to be here?"

"Looks that way doesn't in?"

"I've come to a conclusion."

"And what would that be?" Brian asked.

"That you are a bona fide dork!" That sent everyone into a fit of hysteria. They could barley stand up. When everyone had calmed down a little and were able to stand on their own two feet, I realized something.

"Oh no! I have to go get Hope and Destiny!"

"Hope and Destiny? Who are they?" Leslie hadn't been there for the conversation.

"They're my two best friends and they are going to be staying here with me until….."

"Until what?" Brain and Nick said at the same time, both sounding concerned.

"Oh nothing I'll tell you later. I have to go and get those two. They're probably wondering what's taking me so long. I told them that I wouldn't take too long."

"OK We'll get all our stuff in the house and see you in about fifteen?" Brian asked.

"Yeah sure. I guess I'll see you then. See ya soon guys." I got into the car and drove down the long driveway.
