Kyla and Nick had fallen into a pretty deep sleep. So deep infact it took Brian and AJ at least five minutes to wake Nick up. Nick rubbed his eyes tiredly and then looked over at Kyla, still sleeping.
"You guys go. I'll wake her."
"You gonna take her home?" Brian asked.
"Yeah, well, I'll ask her if she needs a ride first." Nick said while laughing.
He watched as Kevin, Howie, AJ and Brian grabbed their carry on's and headed off the plane. Nick put his seat back into an upright position and leaned over Kyla and getnly shook her. She stirred and slowly opened her eyes.
"Why did we stop?" She said while yawning.
"Rides over. Want me to bring you home?"
"Uh, um, I don't know. I mean, we just, like met today. Again." Kyla said hesitantly.
"I'm not a serial killer, Kyla. I'll get you home safely. Scouts honor."
Kyla laughed as Nick held up his three finger's in the 'scouts honor' salute. She stood up and stretched. Grabbed her carry on bags and headed off the plane with Nick.
The two of them walked out to Nick's black camero and piled their little luggage into his tiny trunk. She hopped in the passanger seat and gave him the directions to her large Orlando estate. Nick pulled up to the front of the house and smiled. The house was just as he remembered it. He had only seen it a few times, but it looked the same. The walkway was lit up with spot lights and they shined on the flowers that lined the path.
"What are you doing?" She asked him.
"I'm walking you to your door." Nick said as he walked with her up the pathway.
"Oh, thanks! Do you, uh, wanna come in?" She said shyly.
"Well, it's about 9:00 now. Maybe for a few minutes. If it's no trouble."
"Nah! No trouble at all. Come on. Maybe my mom will remember you." Kyla said while opening the door.
Mrs. Stevens heard the door open and she put down the dish rag in her hand. "Kyla sweety, is that you?"
"Yeah, ma! It's me. Actually, I've brought a guest. Come on out and meet him."
Kyla's dad was on a buisiness trip so it was just the two girls home in the big estate by themselves. Kyla's dad was normally away, but he always sent her little reminders of how much he loved his little girl and all that sweet stuff.
"Hi, sweety! Oh, who is this. Oh my god! Wait a minute! Oh My god! Is this, NOOOOO! Not possible! He became famous- oh my gosh, it is!" She screeched and then hugged Nick tightly.
"Hi Mrs. Stevens. It's good to see you again." Nick said while hugging her back.
"Kyla and I. We've followed your career. Honest, she has a scrap book of all of your tv appearances and magazine covers and-"
"Mom!" Kyla said embarassed.
Nick laughed. "Well, that's enough babbling for me. It's good to see you again!" She said while kissing his cheek and leaving the room.
"Sorry about that, Nick. My mom tends to get carried away. If it isn't one thing, it's the other. Sorry about that." She said to Nick.
Nick was looking at all of the pictures on the hallway wall. Alot of them were different headshots of Kyla. Some magazine covers, other catalogue pictures. Nick found himself staring at them. Kyla smiled.
"Wow, you look really great in all these pictures." Nick said as he pointed to them.
"Thanks! Yeah, the photographers have the special talent of making me look like that. Thank god, too. Normally, I look like hell."
"Why do you put yourself down? That's all you did during the shoot today. You should really realise how beautiful you are. You always were." He said while looking at the rest of the pictures.
She didn't quite catch the last part Nick had said. She thought she was hearing things. If Nick honestly thought she was pretty back then, why didn't he talk to her? Well, she didn't want to dwell on that right now. She was glad they were talking right now.
"Well, I hate to be pushy. But, it is late. Maybe we can hang out again? I mean, only if you would want to do that? Ya know? You don't have to, I just thought tha-" She was cut off.
"OF course! I'm glad you said something. Actually, AJ was going to be having a party at his house tomorrow night. What do you say? Would you want to come?" Nick asked, more like pleaded.
"Oh, I don't want to be out of place. I'll be the youngest one their."
"That's ok. I'll be the second youngest. Their all going to have someone their with them. Please? What do you say? Come on, please?" He begged.
"Oh, alright! I'll go. How late is it going to be?"
"Well, AJ is known to throw all nighters. I can have you back at a certain time, though?"
"No, I'll just say I'm staying at a friends. I'll pull an all nighter. Sure, why the hell not!" She said while sounding more confidant.
"That A Girl! So, I'll pick you up at 7?"
"Sounds good."
She walked Nick to the door and watched him get into his camero and drive off. She walked up to her bedroom and sighed. Today had been a long, yet satisfying day for her. Never before in her life did she ever think she would be able to hold a conversation with the Nick Carter. But, the unthinkable has happened. And she did.
